Expensive and now they add a $5 environmental fee to your visit. Pass! Anyway to nickel and dime your customers.

i made an appointment with my regular stylist for a bridal blow out several months before my wedding date, June 22. My nine o'clock appointment was canceled via text at 7 a.m. No explanation was given and the stylist who offered to do my hair clearly hadn't received the notes I'd worked out with my regular stylist. Disappointing to say the least. The vibe of this salon has gone from luxury to rip-off.

Worst haircut & balayage of my life. I paid nearly $500 to get an uneven chop job of a bob..... I specifically stated I DO NOT WANT A BOB. She also cut it several inches too short so I cannot wear it up or in a ponytail, another thing I specifically requested. It will be a year before I can get it evened up! The balayage was done by a second stylist and he didn't leave the color on long enough leaving me with brassy gold sections, knowing full well I was growing out my gray hair. I really wanted to like my experience. I had been told that booking a cut here was a pampering experience and I really needed that after a pretty crappy year. I am low income so it was a stretch for me to justify the price but i really needed the pamper day. I was told that I'd be offered a glass of wine if I wanted and that they really would understand the cut I wanted. I've been a regular gene Juarez customer for years. I called ahead to make sure a stylist would be available around 12pm for a bang trim. I arrived around 12:10. The front desk person said there won't be availability until 1:30. That's why I called ahead and came here during my break. No I can't wait over an hour for a 5 minute service.

Today I received the worst haircut ever. I was looking for a holdover until I could see my regular stylist at the end of the month. I arrived with my hair styled in my typical shortish, below chin line, layered bob so there wouldn't be any mystery as to how I like my hair and said to the stylist I wanted a touch up, a little shaping. What I received was a butchering, he took off , appx 1 inch leaving me with a terrible, dated looking wedge. My hair is now so short there is no immediate remedy. Gene Juarez used to be a real class place with a variety of high-end services, now, it's just an average haircut salon, with poor service and the residual high-class attitude. I get a fairly overpriced haircut, but it's been good and willing to pay more to get a consistent cut. But I just don't have the patience for the staff attitude any more. Had appointment, checked and was told to take a seat. Nobody told me I needed to go to barber section, waited for 30mins. Finally I asked and was told I was in the wrong area. That would be understandable if the receptionists weren't right in front. Of course there were no other appointments available. Never going to this place again.

I had a big work event and was excited to have my regular haircut touched up. I asked for collar bone length and layers long enough to put in a ponytail and even provided a photo (being a cosmetologist myself I always loved when my guests provide photos for clarification.) she took a glance at the photo and moved on... I left the salon with hair way above my shoulders, that I can barely put up into a low ponytail before it all falls out of the elastic.
