I walked out yesterday with a haircut that I didn't really like. I thought it didn't look youthful enough but figured that was because Traci spent a really long time blowing it out and maybe it was just over styled for my taste. The more I look at my hair the more I'm seeing that she really didn't do what she said she was going to do. The layers are way shorter than we discussed and they aren't blended well. During the consultation she didn't ask me about my hair type or how I style it, so I told her. I don't think she reall... read more
terrible customer service, wait times to make an appointment are endless, sometimes you are cut off. i have a wonderful stylist, but the frustrations are almost too much
While I loved my stylist and colorist I have had nothing but problems with the scheduling and front desk people for years. The price is premium and I am willing to pay but with that should come first class service. At my last appt. I booked my next color and cut. Two weeks before I got a call that my colorist would be on vacation. OK-understandable. Then I get an e-mail confirming the 2 appointments. When I call they don't know anything about my colorist going on vacation but they tell me that my stylist no longer work... read more
I went there for a facial with a friend. They do NOT run a hygienic and clean facility. When they brought the 'neck warmer' at the very beginning, I it smelled rancid, but I wasn't completely sure (certainly not what I was expecting!). They laid the neck warmer against my skin (not the collar of the robe), and then after 5 minutes, my facial started. Although the facial was pleasant, I woke up the next morning with terrible welts on my neck. I applied cortisone cream, but by the afternoon I had terrible itchy rash ALL O... read more
Let me start by saying I had very high expectations for the Gene Juarez salons! I needed my hair color adjusted after not achieving my desired results at home. Thus, I searched Seattle for a high end salon assuming they would employee only the "best" colorist and stylist at their salon. WRONG! I successfully booked my appointment for the same day for a bleach and tone. However, upon arrival they decided they would only preform the balayage technique on my hair. Great, the catch is THE COLORIST I WAS SCHEDULED WITH WAS NOT... read more
Through the years I've had several friends who worked at Gene Juarez and the senior skincare artists just got their pay slashed by an average of 60-75% (they went from commission to hourly pay). Apparently the staff is newer and subpar now since the established people left. I went for my last brow wax and wanted to cry. My brows were absolutely perfect before and I was just maintaining them (it had taken over a year with a senior artist who made them look amazing). The last girl who did it, cannot remember her name, basicall... read more
Ick. Overpriced and not great service. Try elsewhere. Super difficult to get scheduled, strange attempts at add-on services that couldn't actually get scheduled, inexperienced stylists, and sort of "holier than thou" vibe from the front desk staff. I was new to seattle when trying this place, got a haircut and brow wax and was underwhelmed with the results. The location provides ample parking and the fireplace in the waiting area is nice, but the spa was just okay and the salon noisy and not comfortable. I really think... read more
The only reason why I came here was because my favorite hair stylist is a long drive away...big mistake. This girl Rose worked on my hair...even though I asked her not to add in a bunch of layers and take a lot of length off she went ahead and did it anyway and now my hair looks much worse than it did before I went in. I will never go here again.
I decided to take a half day off work and treat myself to a relaxing massage and mini facial. I have never been to Gene Juarez, but decided to try it out since a close friend of mine has been getting her hair done there for a few years and always seemed satisfied. Upon arrival, you are taken into a nice sitting area to wait for your service. They offer tea and biscuits, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary. The massage therapist greeted me and took me into what I considered a pretty small room. Before hopping onto the table ... read more
