Good grief, this place only knows how to give you "the Rachel." This is an old, tired haircut. The stylist barely asked any questions and did not make me feel at ease explaining what I wanted. She cut a lot of my hair off and made short layers. Absolute nightmare to grow out. There were only old people frequenting this salon. Go elsewhere if you want to a style north of 1999.

I had a horrible experience at Gene Juarez. I came in for a partial highlight, which I have many times, and I have never been more disappointed. My stylist told me she wanted to make the front few strands lighter, which I agreed to, with the mindset it would not be drastically different. Boy was i WRONG! My hair is two totally different shades, with the front inch bleach blonde and the rest much darker blonde. This is NOT at all what I wanted or what she warned me of. I normally get my hair done by Bianka. I trust Bianka blindly because she has done an excellent job every single time I've seen her over the past five years. However, this time aroujd, Bianka was unavailable and another stylist (stella) was recommended to me so I thought why not. WHY NOT? On May 6th, 2017 the hair stylist, Traci, was half an hour late for my fiance's haircut, and because she was late she decided to rush her haircut. My fiancee had confirmed multiple times as to the length of hair that was to be cut-1 inch-but the hair stylist took off over 2.5 inches! She even had her stand up during the haircut, so I can't fathom how one inch miraculously doubled in length. like other gj locations, there's no reason to return. for the price i'm paying, i'm expected service would be above and beyond but sadly not. i liked my colorist but my dresser wasn't very eager to cut my hair. mary hastily asked what i wanted and before i can fully explain she went about it her way. again, not worth returning which is too bad since i would have been a potential returning client. update: went in to get it fixed, the lady tried but seems like people here are only half listening to my needs. so byeee

This is a long overdue review, but I think may help anyone doing research and trying to decide what salon to go to. Don't go see a random stylist like I did...ONLY go if you know someone personally or have a trusted friend give you a good referral. So... I wanted to go from a chocolate brown to an ombre with a more ashy lighter blonde color at the tips. really going for zero star. Don't know how to work with color, not sure what they're doing and really expensive only to pay $200 for a bad job and another $200 to get it fixed elsewhere... waste of time and money.

Came in for a trim and left with 4 inches at least of hair gone. So disappointing considering I've been growing it out for 6 months now! Safe to say I won't be returning to this salon.

The bang trim policy is enough to drive anyone absolutely crazy. You have to actually show up at the salon before they will even check the schedule I've arranged childcare, driven to the salon and been told I'd have to wait 3 hours. Avoid.
