Be careful with the plan they recommend that you get. They gouged me on the plan they suggested. Anything under 1000 kwh is 1 penny. If you go over that 1000 kwh they will charge you .49 cents so almost 50x the amount. I called too complain and they said it was too bad because I agreed. I asked for the phone conversation where I agreed to it and they said they would not be able to let me listen to it.

Poor customer service. Signed up with them for a 12 month contract with a $29 base charge per month. Cancelled their service on the exact day my contract expired. I was charged a 13th monthly $29 charge because they say their billing cycle ended one day before my contract so the new billing cycle started on my cancellation day and got charged a full monthly rate of $29 for cancelling. When I called customer service I got the run-around and was basically told I was fortunate because I could have been charged a 14th monthly ch... read more

This utility business like most in Texas isn't really a provider of electricity but a third party biller between the end consumer and the real provider. I have tried for years to get setup with autobill and have done so successfully through more than 2 iterations of their website. Yet each month I receive a notice that my payment is late and that I need to go online or call customer service and pay my bill. Their customer service department offers to sign me up for autopay each time I call.....one day they will figure it out... read more

This is the worst electricity company in Houston! Be aware! Don't be fooled by the "low" average price online. They have monthly charge! They won't tell you the meter reading day. So even if you open the service 1 day before the reading day, you will be charged for the whole month. The customer service lady was very proud to tell me "even you used 1 KWts for 1 day, you will be charged for the full month. That's how we do business." Stay away. **** ******* *******************************!

I switched to Gexa Energy because they currently have the lowest price on electricity. I got a bill 4 days later saying that I owe $50.56. I logged onto my account and saw that my first billing cycle was only 1 day; I used only 40 kwh, and according to my contract, if I use less than 500 kwh per billing cycle, then I will be charged the minimum $49+tax and fees. So I called them to find out why I my billing cycle was only 1 day. They said the billing cycle is controlled by ***********, and there was no way for them to find o... read more

Electricity was disconnected while we were away at work. My fault - didn’t pay the bill in time. Paid my past due and then called to get an ETA on when electricity would be restored. They said they were issuing an order to have it restored shortly. Explained that I have a 2 year old and an 8 month pregnant wife that would be very upset about no power. They assured me it would be restored today. I find out later they issued the restoration order for the next day and there is nothing the actual supplier can do to turn on my po... read more

I am only give this 1 star because i cannot choose 0 or NEGATIVE stars. Like many others I searched for better rates a few months before my contract with another company ended. The plan I signed up for was 6.7 per kwh FIXED RATE. The fact sheet stated there would be additional TDU charges however did not clearly state what the charges were. Conveniently after my first bill I checked again and there they were. Needless to say I received my first bill expecting 6.7 per KWH fixed rate and was charged 12.9 per kwh . I called to ... read more

I signed up with a Gexa Energy Plan through ****************. I have been using this website to lock in great electricity rates for over 10 years and have never had a problem with paying what I expected to pay after reviewing the electricity facts label UNTIL my last experience with GEXA. I have actually been with Gexa previously and had no problems. This time however, I felt like the electricity label was not as straight forward as it appeared and that I was taken advantage of. When I got my first bill, the price per kilowa... read more
