Their contracts are very confusing and misleading. I just renewed a contract and I'm willing to pay the price to go elsewhere!

I have been trying to contact your company for 2 days and have spent 4 hours on the phone! That is unacceptable! We have been baited and switched with our electricity plan. I will be contacting the ****** ******* ********** ** ***** and Better Business Bureau on Monday, Aug 19 if I have not spoken with someone. I am calling during normal business hours. I will also be reaching out to corporate Gexa.

After over 10 years of service with Gexa, our contract price went up 60%. After spending multiple attempts across 2 days and more than 4 hours trying to get in contact with a representative on the phone, we were basically told there is nothing that can be done. I am not pleased at all with how extremely difficult it is to get ahold of a representative at Gexa, and do not feel like a valued customer. I closed my Gexa account in October 2018 because the plan was not clear; if I used between 500-1000 kWh I was charged per kWh, but if I went even 1 kWh over 1000 I was charged a flat rate of $185 and this was NOT made clear when I signed up for the service and was so desperate to get out from under this company that I was willing to pay the cancellation fee of $150. *** ***. Careful if your contract expires, out of nowhere they'll hit you with a rate far above any retail rate on the market or even what they advertise on their website! 19 cents/kwh they just charged me.. and their "customer service" agents could give two ***** about it.

Terrible service... Rip you off make the bill confusing. I get charged a different amount for every kilowatt used. Poor customer service.

Gexa energy company is a company nobody should use. In over 23 years of paying electricity bill, Gexa charged me over $545 in one month. People ask me if I have a bakery in my house to use that much electricity in one month. I called the most useless customer service department in the electricity industry and was told I couldn’t change my plan because it had passed the time I could do that, more so when I signed up on my own online. This company is TRASH. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT sign up with them. I requested for service to begin on August 1, but didn't receive a bill for 2 months. I called to see what the problem was and they told me they hadn't been getting a usage report from CenterPoint for our apartment and that they would do an investigation. Two weeks pass and I still don't hear anything. I call back and they finally tell me our meter wasn't transmitting a signal to CenterPoint and that's why they didn't have any usage history for us.
