I was a customer of Gexa Energy and at the signup of contract Gexa Energy charge deposit, which they are not released after paying of the final bill also. I am doing follow up with customer support and through the Gexa Energy website. But, I am getting an answer that the department who is doing the process of deposit refund did not take action and release a refund to my deposit amount. The customer support supervisor makes me wait for 45 min, 9 min, and 12 min. After making a followup call again and again I did not get a ref... read more

Gexa energy was paid off 4 years ago and now they have put me into collections for over $800 nonpay! This is inaccurate information and has dropped my credit score. They keep telling me they will look into it and give me a call back but they have not! Beware for your credit scores sake!

Gexa energy has a terrible auto billing system. I had a good credit card with over $18k yet they claimed multiple times that "my payment didn't go through" and disconnected the service. I was charged additional services disconnection and reconnection fees even though it was not my fault that they were unable to properly bill my account. Customer Service claimed that i will get a refund for the fees but that never happened.

When we moved from an old home to a new energy efficient home in February, I switched from Reliant (after 15 years) to Gexa based off a 3 month contract that had a great kw/hr rate. There were no extra fees or charges with this plan. The rate was great and the fees were reasonable. However, after the 3 months I received an email offer based off my usage from Gexa that has now doubled my fee every month. First it was $120, then $200, and this month was a whopping $400!!! I have switched my electricity provider to Gexa Energy using http://www.powertochoose.org/ on June 16. They have started servicing my house on June 17. Since then, I have not received confirmation of enrollment, Terms of Service, or Electricity Fact Label (despite multiple promises from customer service representatives), nor have I received any bill from them. Absolutely horrible customer service. When one person answers the phone they say they can’t help you and put you on hold for hours to talk to someone else who also cannot help. Even when going through the phone prompts to get to the correct representative they still do not know how to do their job. Being on the phone for 5+ hours to cancel their service is ridiculous.

I have used a variety of electricity providers, but Gexa is by far the worst. Between the surly customer service representatives and the absurd $70 for not using enough electricity each month, I cannot understand how they've managed to stay in business when there are so many other options available. I have recently changed providers and have been charged extra because I haven't used enough energy (because who cares about the environment and being energy efficient). Worst customer service I have ever delt with !!! And they automatically renewed my plan after they switched me to a more expensive plan without my consent,,, I live in a 1 bedroom apartment and signed up for a 500 kw plan and they changed it to 2000 kw plan ,,,I'm paying over $150 a month for electricity for a 1 bedroom apartment with 2 people that work 10 hours a day and hardly ever home!!! It is a racket and scamming people out of there hard earned money !!!!!

Absolutely most awful electricity service I have ever used. My old apartment flooded. (I called the next day to transfer services to my new apartment unit) I was given the whole, "everything is set!". Only come to find out that the transfer was NEVER made and that instead, I was paying for two service locations when I had initially requested a transfer!
