I knew what my energy usage was each month, so when I signed up to Gexa, I expected my bill to be around $300/month. When my first bill of $650 arrived I was shocked, and when I called them they explained that the $0.065kwh that had been advertised, was only for the first 1000kwh and after that I was being charged $0.135kwh, more than double what I expected! Thought I was signing up for a good plan then i received the highest bill I have ever had. They sign you up for a cheap rate then I was gouged for another $120.00 for TDU delivery charges, plus add their $35.00 base charge and my electric bill goes from $211.00 to 377.00! 12.5 cents a KWH after I signed up for 7.34 cents . I am so very tired of being ripped off. Plz stay away from this company, don't make the mistake i made.
They have the worst customer service. After sitting on the phone for over 2 hours they then told me they would give me a call back to speak with a supervisor that would call me back that same day. Never got a call. This is the 3rd time this has happened. If they say they will call you back, it is a lie. They changed my plan without contacting me and charged me 10x what my normal bill was. Now I cannot even get a hold of anyone to even attempt to get this corrected. Not a company you want to do business with.
I have been with Gexa for 3 yrs now . This last year I went on a plan that discounts your kw charges if you stay within a certain number of KW hours ! Amazingly after the first 2 years with Gexa , and my KW hrs where always between let’s say 1000 and 2000 kw hrs . I started the new plan to discount my bill as long as I stayed between those #’s . Gexa Energy doesn’t honor the rate on the EFL. They said rate would be $.102 per Kwh at 2000kwh but they charged me $.16 per Kwh when I used 2300Kwh. Had to immediately switch back to ***** Energy which charges the rate stated on the EFL. Made the biggest mistake of my life when switching from ***** Energy to Gexa Energy. Sorry ***** Energy for leaving you for one month. Gexa Energy, I will never deal with you again in my life!
I've been with gexa for a year. Not the greatest service or plans. My contact will end on 9/6/20. I went on the gexa website and selected a new plan. It was confirmed and stated that my new contract would begin when my old one ended. Which is the way that it is usually done. I've never had an electricity company that my renewed contract didn't begin immediately after the previous one ended. Gexa advertises its "60 Day Happiness Guarantee" - that's a great idea but unfortunately it doesn't work. I have been trying for three weeks to change my plan and was told on several occasions that it had been changed, but it never changes on my account. Each time I call in to check the status, the agent tells me the last guy did something wrong. Gexa is the worst electric service provider I've ever interacted with. Not only did they take over my service without authorization (I believe the Attorney General refers to this as "slamming"), but it took 4 attempts to get them to get me out of a contract I didn't authorize. I was simply told it was an "internal error". This unauthorized billing period cost significantly more than the provider plan I was supposed to have, so I'm out that $. I wish there is zero star. This is the worst energy company I have to deal with, you are given a rate and they changed it without any notification. I'm glad I was with them for only a month. Do not sign up with them unless they send you the contract. They charged higher rate than what was on my contract.
