Waited an hour just to be told that the kitchen is closed
Sunday funday. Waited an hour to be seated then almost 2 hours for food. Music & vibe was good
This place over booked to the point they was unable to honor reservations. We waited for seating to become available although we was on time. Once we was seated our waitress came over to tell us everything is a 2 hour wait as the kitchen was backed up. We looked around and realized a room full of people who did not have food on there tables, not even appetizers, and everyone was waiting some with way earlier reservations that was still waiting. This was my first time going here. For a small business I think that they shouldn’t have reservations. Due to the fact that they have hookah and if you purchase a hookah your going to sit for a while. I had a reservation it took them a second to seat me and also the table that I sat at next to me was a big party so it was overlapped meaning too many people sitting on top of each other, which I had to ask could I be moved .Then , the waitress explained updated on food explaining because of DoorDash and Uber eats so many peopl... read more
We went on Sunday for brunch. We had reservations and were seated upon arrival. The restaurant was a vibe! They had a DJ. There cocktails cost about $13-$16. Our waitress was attentive and kind. The downside was we didn’t get a chance to eat due to the kitchen being backed up - about an hour and a half wait for food.
Made reservations for 6:15pm, arrived at 6:10. Walked in and no one was at the host stand, nobody greeted us or even said we will be right with you. We had to ask staff who kept walking right past us how do we get seated and they kept saying hold on. A guy who was making hookah went and got the manager for us but the manager never came. We waited for about 30 mins trying to be seated and it never happened so we left. We traveled all the way from Virginia to experience Gottis and instead we got 0 customer service. We made a reservation for 2 on Open Table. When we arrived and notified the hostess of our reservation we were told we didn’t need one and would be seated immediately. About 6 minutes later we were seated. After going over the menu, we knew exactly what we wanted to order. We sat there and waited, and waited, AND WAITED! NOT A SINGLE SERVER CAME BY TO ACKNOWLEDGE US! So after about 20 minutes we decided to leave and go somewhere else. This was our first and definitely our last time at Gotti’s.
My whole party that ate food got sick and the drinks didn’t taste good .
The Review: First, let’s start with the excellent part. Gotti’s is centrally located in downtown Houston parking wasn’t that bad was able to get street parking, and paid parking is available all over the area. The DJ was excellent. The music was a bit too loud but she kept the crowd going and moving now for the rest; we arrived for a reservation for 12 they changed it to 10 arbitrarily without notifying us.
