My mother was in for two weeks respite post pneumonia. She was very happy with her care. The room was large, comfortable and well furbished. The food was excellent and the staff very kind and efficient. However, from my point of view, clearly, they were understaffed, particularly at weekends when I myself picked up another patient in her room, who had fallen earlier. Mum's medication was only checked once or twice and activities often cancelled.

This was my father's first respite care. Baycroft Great Baddow did not disappoint. From the moment my father arrived, all the staff were very welcoming. It reassured my husband and I, that Dad was in good hands. I spoke to the nurse on duty a few times during the respite care and both of them were very informative of my father's care and put my mind at rest. The care staff, activities, kitchen, laundry, hairdresser, reception, nurses and management all came to say goodbye when he left. It was really lovely.

After visiting many care homes in the Chelmsford area we came across Baycroft. All I can say is, 'if I need care in my later years this is the place I want to be'. It feels like home.

An amazing care home. The treatment my dad is receiving is first class! We too as family also get great treatment on our visits. The home and all staff are fantastic and couldn’t do enough for dad or us. So pleased was referred to this home by a friend. Could not be happier with our choice.

My Mother in Law has settled in well after moving from her home of 55 years. We are extremely pleased with the range of activities on offer which has been thoroughly involved in. Carers are all very friendly and treat the residents with respect, as do the nurses, hostesses, cleaners and management.
