INSTALLATION /ERROR PROBLEMS I PERFORMED THE FIRST FEW STEPS AS INSTRUCTED. With out getting to register or insert paper (only removing shipping tapes & silica) the printer gave a message that drum was not installed righ... re inserted several times then msg changed to PAPER JAM but no paper was put in YET. I cannot get the printer beyond that msg regardles of you tube videos and further instructions.
Not so great... I bought this printer a couple years ago and noticed right away that whenever the printer comes on to print, it momentarily dims all of the lights in my house. My house is a newer home, so I'm not sure why this printer is drawing so much power. As I got towards the end of the toner cartridge it came with, I noticed it was printing the pages dirty. I decided to switch out the toner cartridge to the expensive one I bought that has extra toner in it hoping it would solve the issue. The issue only got worse. See ... read more
Can't Replace Toner I have three of these printers in my office. Two of the three stopped working after the first drum ran out. Will not accept any replacement toner. Crap product.
Poor quality printing and replacing the toner cartridge doesn't help Speckles and grey marks all over the printed paper make any doc hard to read. I assumed it must be a bad toner cartridge and by the time I changed it out the 30-day return period was past. Sleep mode is great when it works, but about 1/3 of the time it doesn't wake up until I disconnect and reconnect power.
Goes offline Printer on windows 10 continually goes offline. Pain in the neck.
Was a fan of Brother printers but no move I replaced my old Brother printer with this one and what a mistake. The printer has to be turned off and on to get it out of sleep mode. If you don't do this then the print job will just lie in your print queue and never print. Its a shame because until recently I was a fan of Brother printers.
Toner Cartridge Leaking! The toner cartridge that came with this printer continually leaks toner onto the drum. I thought at first the scattered toner was due to the shipment of the printer because the toner cartridge and the drum unit were already in place and not packaged separately. I am really tired of cleaning this brand new drum! The print quality is horrible! I'm afraid to purchase a compatible toner as it may void any warranty but I am nervous about spending the $$$ for a genuine Brother toner cartridge to replace th... read more
Every printed page is smugged Brand new , cleaned the drum , changed the cartridge, clean the drum again and no change. My 15 year old HP does a better job.
Workhorse of a printeer This printer has the fastest output and is so low maintenance.
