Poor print quality Usually, I have positive results with Brother printer devices. With this particular model, I did not. I have returned two in quick succession due to unacceptable print quality. After the second return, I am using a different printer brand for this user. I have other Brother printers in production, but these two returns were the latest purchased. Hopefully, it is a batch of bad printers, but I am finding another printer make for this user.
DON'T EVER BUY THIS PRINTER We have had this brand new printer replaced twice and none has worked properly. It creases every copy unless you use a heavy bond paper (like 32 lbs.) and it consistently feeds from the wrong drawer. TOTAL JUNK. Will never buy another Brother product. I would rate it 0 stars if I could. Will be returning this 3rd printer also.
Worst laser I've owned I've had about 15 laser printers over the years. I've had this one four months. This is clearly the worst. Print quality problems. Constant toner stippling requires frequent adjustment of print settings. MP function tray quit working. Support is low quality.
Read this before you buy The printer works ok, nothing to say there ... however, BROTHER ... in their infinite wisdom, have patched a new software that makes the printer go into deep sleep, from which it will never come back on line, unless the device is powered off / on from the switch - every time you need to print. At this time there is no fix for it and Brother states that it is done by design.
A decent printer, save for a poor toner\drum unit design Likes: Print quality is good at its price range. Consumables are relatively inexpensive for a laser printer, and have good yields. (And also has a High Yield cartridge option) Can operate on wired and wireless networks. Wakes up from sleep every time. Can print on Avery index card sheets. If it was not for the issue noted below, it would be a great value for its cost. Dislikes: If the printer isn't used for more than a few days, toner streaks appear on the first few pr... read more
defective upon arrival this is our 2nd Brother printer, the first one have been working really well. we were looking forward to have this additional one. But it's kind of disappointing that the printer makes a loud noise when printing. we asked for replacement, hope this time works.
You'll regret buying DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY Will not work in a year. Will say its ink cartridges are undetectable. You call for help and guess what..... they tell you your not using their brand. BS. Waste of your money
Bad print quality due to smudges produced by drum unit. Prints come out with various smudges, especially the first page(s) printed after the printer hasn't been used for a few hours. After calling Brother technical support, they ran me through the whole drum cleaning process (on a new printer, mind you) and it seemed to be better. That didn't last long. I have owned other Brother laser printers with no problems and wish my old one hadn't given up the ghost. Maybe I got a bad unit, but the return period has expired for me to ... read more
Leaking toner onto paper ... produces prints covered in ink speckles. I purchased this in March and have used it very lightly, still on the starter toner cartridge. The printer works great (connectivity, set-up, etc.) but has one major problem, the toner leaks onto the prints producing speckles all over the paper. This started happening about a month after I started using it and has only gotten worse. If I print more than a few pages at a time, the leak is contained on the first 2-3 pages. But then the next day it starts all... read more
