Noisy and Annoying Ordering and delivery process was fine. Print quality is fine. However, the printer makes a loud screeching noise when printing. VERY ANNOYING! I've used Brother printers for a very long time. Sorry to see that quality has declined so significantly. Since I'm past the return window, I'll use this one as long as I can stand it, then find a new printer from a different company.
It broke within a month This did not work. It worked for a couple weeks. Then I started getting black dots all over the top of the page. I called brother, and they sent out a new toner. It didn't work after a couple of weeks. They insist I try cleaning it again, then try. It doesn't work. Now it is drawing a long black line along the edge. Don't get it
Poor print quality -- spotting that cleaning doesn't fix The electronics, wifi, app, etc. all work great and easily. But the print quality is TERRIBLE. Copies come out covered with random spots. I've tried three times to clean the drum, following Brother's instructions, and this gives one or two clean copies before it goes back to spotted shadows all over the page. Toner Bleeds on Paper I have had this printer for about 60 days now and I have had continuous toner leakage on my paper output. I have several case numbers with Brother customer service trying to resolve this issue but all they want to do is replace the toner cartridges. Now I can understand a defective toner cartridge, but Brother sent me a new cartridge right from their factory and the problem got worse. This printer will not stay connected via wi-fi. It drops every few minutes and will not reconnect on its own. This printer has serious issues staying connected to wi-fi. It goes into deep sleep and can't maintain a connection to wi-fi. Which means I had to do wireless setup again. I did. Immediately upon unplugging it and moving it to another office, it connects to the internet for approximately 45 seconds before dropping connection. I've never been so disappointed with a brother printer before.
This printer will give you medical problems. You will go full office space on this printer if you are trying to print important papers using your wireless network. You’ll troubleshoot the issue and remain calm through the process thinking, maybe I didn’t connect it right. Maybe it’s me. So you reconnect the WiFi network and get a printed confirmation page. Do Not buy this printer! Zero stars is not an option when reviewing products and services. Do Not buy this printer made in Vietnam. I plugged it in straight out of the box following instructions and all of my electronics, lights and everything that was plugged in surged with power spike. Tried many different power outlets and even tried using a power strip with same results. Waste of my time! Sending back to Amazon for refund!
Do not buy We've bought four of these, in six months only 2 are still working. Buy an HP instead!
Early Print Quality Issues I bought one in April 2017. The printer started smearing bar codes and bold font after 7 months. Customer service told me to clean it and when that didn't work, they said the drum and toner were only warrantied for 90 days. A replacement drum is $116. A drum should last more than 7 months.
