Honeymoon Chicken Born from the playful culinary philosophy “where funky meets fancy,” Honeymoon Chicken takes the art of fried chicken to a new level of sophistication and creativity. The chef-curated menu is crafted by the illustrious king of BBQ, Chef Rob Sonderman, who first graced DC with his low and slow meat cookery at Federalist Pig. Best described as a love letter to the delicious majesty of fried chicken.

I have been to several DC restaurants that serve fried chicken, never to return. Not this time. The Fried chicken is among the best I have ever had. This is a lunch counter/takeout restaurant. We were served at the counter. The staff was very courteous, service was excellent. We met the GM who guided us through the menu. The I had fried Chicken, perfectly crisp and it had the honey moon dust. Brussel sprouts were amazing not burnt. Gotta have extra honey rolls. I took a bucket home!! 5 Stars!!
My husband and I are pescatarian and pleasantly surprised to see so many seafood and vegetarian options on the menu! Customer service was great and the food was DELICIOUS! This is definitely a gem of an establishment. The restaurant decor is also nice.
Saw this place on IG and could t wait to try. Definitely worth the type! The food is delicious, wings are crisped to perfection and portions are huge! Definitely coming back. Great ambiance outdoor perfect for a summer night.
Been wanting to try this place for a while, so checked them out with my cousin who's a food blogger. They have a nice sized menu, which I was surprised. They have outdoor seating which is first come, first serve and they have indoor seating with a waitlist. The chicken was okay, I feel it's been overhyped. The mac'n cheese was descent, had a different taste that I couldn't pinpoint but it wasn't a bad taste. The thing I didn't like is you have to be extra for condiments, I paid $0.50 for some hot sauce that wasn't even good.... read more

Honeymoon Chicken may have the best fried chicken in DC. Set on Petworth's Upshur Street, this diner style chicken joint is special. Its gritty look gives it character, but there's good reason Honeymoon content is going viral on TikTok, Instagram, and is featured on the Michelin Guide. The three piece combo with two honey butter rolls and a side of honey dipped sprouts is my go-to order. I normally pass on the popular honey dipped chicken and opt for the spicy honey dusted chicken, which I favor for its flavorful and crisp... read more
I didn't love the food as much as everyone else. I think it was a one-time issue perhaps. the chicken had an off texture. It was a little rough at the exterior, right under the skin. The coleslaw was really good, and the rolls were okay.

Chicken was great, so were the fries. But unfortunately the mac and cheese didn't live up to the hype and the mash potatoes were horrendous. It tasted like instant mash, the mac and cheese was very salty and had a weird taste

A friend of mine wanted me to try this place and I am glad I did. The menu options were pleasantly overwhelming. I ordered the spicy fried wings and hot wings for pickup. The pickup process was smooth and easy and the staff were incredibly helpful. The food was amazing. I am always a bit skeptical of jumbo wings (why are the wings so big???) but the taste was definitely there. I will be back again.
The food was amazing and the staff was so nice. We sat outside, the inside was pretty busy. Everything we had was very good and it's worth going to check these guys out.
