Finally got to try this famous fried chicken spot in DC & we enjoyed it very much. Chicken was crispy and flavorful. It was good, BUT not very stood out, compared to some other known fried chicken spots. Definitely worth the trip to try it out. Mac n Cheese was creamy. Butter roll: hmmm sooo yummy. KFC, Popeyes, Church's Chicken.... You guys need to come take a visit and try the food here and take notes. This is what fried chicken is supposed to be. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly fried, just perfect all around. We tried the whole bird bucket of chicken, the chicken tenders, buttermilk mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts and watermelon feta salad and everything was absolutely delicious. On food alone, the place is 5 star delicious. The self service digital order placement was cool & convenient. Ambiance and service knocked it down for my style. Wound up here accidentally due to an intended place being closed so my cousin recommended this as a quick backup nearby, mind you I'm not really a fried or fried chicken eater. I came to Honeymoon Chicken while in town to meet friends. Although we came on a Monday well after the lunch rush the place seemed to stay packed inside the small restaurant so we ate at the bar. We ordered buffalo chicken wings, 3 piece white spicy honeymoon chicken and sides using the QR code at the table. The 3 piece was delicious and worthy of the accolades. The service was really quick. I saw an Instagram post about it receiving the Bib Gourmand award and have wanted to try it since. I got the chicken in their signature hot honey sauce- it was okay, the hot honey isn't really hot? And I envisioned crispy chicken to be crispier than it was. The rolls were good, and their potato wedges were decent.
The place to satisfy my late night cravings. Love the hot honey sandwich, rolls, and mac and cheese. Perfect with a side of strawberry lemonade!
Decent chicken. The sauce in the Mac and cheese was not very thick and the noodles were fairly mushy, great flavor though. Chicken poutine was our favorite through the cheese was not curds.
This was a pretty cool spot. We were seated as soon as we walked in. I love the option to place your order from the table using a QR code. If you go definitely try the roasted brussel sprouts they were soooo good. The seafood basket was hot and I drizzled it with the hot honey and that was amazing. Upon walking in, we were greeted promptly and shown our booth. You can order via a QR code right from your table and I loved that, not having to wait for a waiter to come around. The place was small but charming with booths and a bar area. The food was good would've been better if it actually came out hot and not lukewarm. The drink I had was good.
