Nothing special. My $500 (after hotel fees and parking) overlooked the garbage and truck delivery area. My room smelled terribly of animals that had stayed there and I awoke twice in my sleep because I couldn’t take the odor. I called the desk very early the next day and they were willing to change my room, I said since i was only staying one more night and had an early flight that if they could reclean, they said yes. We have always wanted to stay at the legendary Hotel del Coronado and we’re not (too) disappointed. There is a lot of construction in the property, which limited some dining and shopping options, and perhaps our direct access from the Victorian building, but the staff accommodated guests extremely well and the key amenities (fine dining, pool, sun deck, beach access, spa and health club) were available for use. Wonderful service and I can’t wait to go again when they’ve completed their renovations.

Lots of construction going on. Elevator out of order. No security. Beautiful gardens. Great access to the beach. Lots of military planes and helicopters. Room was very nice and bed very comfortable.
