My mom came to Huntington Valley in June 2003. I remember when me and my Dad came to visit for the first time. We were greeted by the weekend manager with a smile and were shown the facility including the subacute where my mom would be staying because she had a breathing tube in her throat and a G tube in her stomach to help her with nutrition. My 96 y/o Dad needed some after-surgery care as he was very weak after being in the hospital. We decided to have him taken to HV. We were a little apprehensive at first but were pleasantly surprised by the staff there. It was as though we were the only ones in their facility. Whenever i asked for something or had an issue it was taken care of immediately. I never once was told "that is not my job" or "i will see what I can do." If you are in need of a healthcare facility, I strongly recommend HVHC. When my niece and I toured the facility, we thought it looked good so took a chance on the positive vibe we picked up from talking to a few of the staff and are happy we chose this place for my sister. Everyone pitches in to help when they are needed and will go out of their way to get the job done. I'd like to thank the staff of HVHC for the care they extended to me during my recent stay in this facility. I found the staff to be totally attentive to my needs and the administrative staff went above and beyond while trying to advocate for me in the usual insurance / hospital / doctor nightmare that seems to happen with regularity these days... Not sure what Melissa L. is talking about, our experience is nothing but positive! Yeah, the place appears to have been recently renovated & it looks beautiful from the entrance, patios, offices, halls, nursing stations & resident rooms. I made a surprise visit early in the morning & the place was just as clean, odor free & busy as "normal" visiting hours, & the very nice CNA was just finishing getting granny ready for the day. Daniel and his staff amazing! Thank you! Wow, we had an emergency situation with my mom. Against medical advice, she checked herself out of a rehab/home center 7 hours prior. (broke leg earlier in the week) She ended up in the hospital again after naturally.. We had a very short window of opportunity to find her a new place to go into. Extremely poor management! however, most CNAs are very helpful. The beds are extremely old and worn out, such that a deep channel is sunk down the middle of the beds, rendering them VERY uncomfortable! The rooms are shared with two others of the same sex. The worst is that almost everyone is incontinent and pooping their diapers HOURLY, or even TWICE AN HOUR! And their stench is DISGUSTING! There care sucks. The staff is rude and disrespectful. Multiple compliments filed and they didn't do anything. My dad was in there and was sent to the hospital and they never called us to tell us he was in the hospital . Don't send anyone here.

The stay for my mom started out rough, and yes, my mother can be difficult. The place was fairly clean, the meals looked decent, but the end care was not what I expected especially the night she passed away. Standing at the nurse's station and clearly just watching everyone just talking. The updates were very Vaage. The reports were not clear, some reports needed attention but never spoke to a doctor and the last night no was helpful. Needless to say, she died and only a few had compassion, very disappointing.
