The staff was not helpful and it seemed like the guests were an imposition. Had to ask several times for simple things and had to haul large bags myself while hotel staff ignored us
Love this hotel- the rooms with the terrace are adorable if the weather is nice. Our checking unfortlet was a disaster … but the staff at the front desk did even they could to help.
Hotel was prepaid
This was my worst hotel experience ever, I booked a room with two queen beds and paid a more expensive price to have that specific type of room, my first night there there was no heat in my room and it took them an entire day and me freezing my whole time there before they switched rooms, the room that they put me in did not have the extra bed that I needed, and that room ended up not having power for half of my stay there so I was sitting in the dark. Room was not what I had booked. In addition, the hotel overbooked and initially was going to send me elsewhere, a non-brand hotel I was unfamiliar with about 3/4 of a mile away. I had to argue and spend my time doing research. No suggestion of compensating me for the problem, little by way of apology - almost assumed they could re-direct my by right without much discussion.
Not good any more This hotel's quality has dramatically gone down. Service has always been minimal, but I have been going there necause the location is really convenient. But when you pay $500 a night (which is not that much for Manhattan), you still expect your room to be cleaned every day. Because of covid, they now only clean it every 3-4 days!! Quite embarrassing for the chain, hygiene being even more critical because of covid, they should actually clean it more rather than less... I will no longer be staying there
