I really hate to ever write a bad review but this property was so disappointing, I feel it is justified. I stay in 15 hotels a year and to be blunt, this was among the worst experiences I've had in quite some time. If you're booking the hotel full and charging $700/night to stay there, you no longer should be blaming every deficiency on "the pandemic" (which was the excuse I would hear multiple times over the course of my stay). First off, I arrived around 4 pm to a long check-in line and a front desk that would sit empty fo... read more

Destination Fee Surprise/Disappointment The only good thing about this hotel is its location near Union Square and a few blocks from NYU, where we were visiting our son. Several things in the room did not work - coffee maker, lighted mirror, minibar fridge. We were charged a ridiculous destination fee that included free bottles of water and a newspaper, but only upon repeated requests. Beds were uncomfortable and you could hear noise in adjacent rooms. To top it off, staff checking us in had the haughtiest attitude. Will nev... read more

not having a manager on duty when you request one is a NO NO for ever staying again.

The air conditioner did not work. Sent a team to fix it and said it was fixed, but still did not work. Moved to a second room and the lock on the terrace door was broken. No padding or cushions on terrace furniture. No light on terrace. No changing of linens, no cleaning of rooms. Poor water pressure in toilet and showers.

Good location, but ceiling was leaking (they graciously allowed me to change rooms). Lobby was dull, small and uninteresting. Above all the $25 "destination fee" was a gloried rip off. I am used to paying "resort fees" but this was no resort. It was just another way to advertise lower fees and stick it to the consumer when it's too late (at check in)

Well our one night stay was fine, the lack of a flexible policy when a hurricane was hitting was extremely disappointing. The lack of interchange between Expedia and the hotel was remarkably bad.
