Original item lasted four years. Ordered another here; ... Original item lasted four years. Ordered another here; had to return it because it did not work. Got replacement from Jandy (Amazon), installed by Jandy professional. This one is not working either (same error code: 123). Waiting now to get this resolved. May have to return this one as well. Not impressed.
The Jury is Still Out My first cell was the two-port type and lasted 6 years before failing. I replaced it with the PLC1400 3-port cell, which has lasted only two years. Just last week, the middle pin on the cell began burning...by the time I was able to turn the power off, the cord plug had basically melted. not happy I bought this product less than a year ago and it isn't working anY longer
Expect to replace this every 3 years System works fine... for maybe 2 or 3 years. Then you have to spend $500 on a replacement cell. Yes, you heard right. $500 every 3 years. Shoddy. I was told by a technician at Zodiac that 3 years is "within the average life" of this system. Unbelievable.
Not Correct Parts. The item came well packaged from original manufacturer. the only problem is that the sensor had only 2 sensors on it... not sure where the disconnect was.returned item and went to Pool Supply 4 Less website for correct part..
Easily replaced the old unit with this one, but it is now failing after 1.5 years Original review: This enabled me to quickly get my pool chlorine production back on track. Chlorinator versus Salt System....choose Chlorinator After eight years on a Jandy Salt System and many $$ spent with our local pool company, we are about ready to close the salt pool system and go back to the chlorinator. The original chlorinator is still plumbed on the pool. A salt system is great IF the repairs were not so frequent and expensive. replacement my original blew up in 5 years. I would not use this Zodiac if it was an original install. I had to replace the sensor 2 years ago. There must be a better brand out there. That being said, this was the lowest price I could find for a replacement that fits all the plumbing without modification. Easy install and working again.
Look elsewhere. These things just don't last. 3 in 5 years!!! This system is very costly to maintain. I would look at a different system.
