Japanese Auto Masters was founded in 1982 by Tom and Cindi Potter in a small shop close to the Virginia Beach oceanfront. Tom originated Japanese Auto Masters to address the needs of consumers driving Japanese-made vehicles at a time when there were no independent repair service centers that specialized exclusively in all Japanese makes and models. We also service all Domestic vehicles as well.

We live in Indiana but were on our way to visit our daughter and her family in Va. Beach. We had had our mechanic work on our car before we left home, but shortly into the trip, we still had issues. We returned home to have our mechanic look at it again, and he sent us on our way the next day. We were facing an 800 mile trip and going through the mountains. Needless to say, it was not a pleasant adventure, as we continued to have issues the whole way. As it turns out, we had to be towed the last 71 miles. Our daughter had re... read more

We appreciate the comments in the email sent on our behalf. This is the type of concerted effort more shops should aspire to; helping one another to solve difficult problems. I?m sorry I can?t recall your technicians name there in your hometown, but it was primarily with his help that we avoided installing incorrect parts to resolve the issue and the fact that he cared enough to remain involved until it got resolved. He may be relatively new in business, but that kind of drive will carry him far. He deserves credit as well. ... read more
Seems to have fixed the primary problem (so far, so good!). Car is running much smoother, with other general maintenance things that were done. Appreciate their honest feedback and not trying to push things that not needed.
Business response:
Thank you for your business, we pride our business on honesty!
As with all of my past services Japanese Auto Masters has exceeded my expectations for a auto repair facility. They are very friendly and courteous. They expalain what has been done and what needs to be done in laymen terms and I feel their prices are very reasonable compaired to other repair facilities. I trust them with my vehicle and would not go anywhere else. The popcorn is also a very nice touch.
Business response:
Thank you Sal, for the kind words. We really try to communicate with our customers about their vehicles. See you at the new shop!
Didn't find unnecessary work to be done. Made suggestions for future repairs and what to watch for. I appreciated that because it is a 13 year old automobile and I want to get many more years of use out of it.
Business response:
We appreciate your business!
I have been taking my car, which is a 1988 300 Z, for at least the last 20 years and I credit most of that longevity, to Japanese Auto Masters. They have always maintained my vehicle and I have never found any problems with their service. I trust what they tell me!
Business response:
