Great spot, good food, good ambience - service is awful every single time we go!!
Unfortunately, as a regular customer (multiple times per month) it is difficult to be critical of a location that my family loves to go to. I know Lansdowne can be very busy on game night but last night the food was really not up to Joey standard I have become familiar with and likely will not be back. The steak had no flavour, no seasoning and was cold and the burger have no flavour and seemed different than the last time I was at joeys and not as good. I made a reservation online, where they offered options to note the occasion, so I selected “birthday.” I also added a request to have a candle on the table and a slice of cake at the end of the meal. Unfortunately, no one brought out the cake, and there were no candles or tea lights on the table. If these options aren’t available at your restaurant, I’m not sure why they’re included on the reservation form. The experience was very disappointing.
The drinks we ordered this time were not quite as good when we went there from the past… Peach Bellini the ice is coarse not smooth ice. The Sangria is watery too much ice and just taste like water.
Service is always terrible here - no one checked on the quality of the food, half our order was missing without a server coming by to confirm if we had everything, server was generally absent from the table (we often had to get the attention of others). Bad service always. Typical.
This is heartbreaking to write, but my experience at Joey Lansdowne was the worse I had in a restaurant. The stake was overcooked and the fish was undercooked. However, this is not what made the experience so bad. The service was what put this dining experience to a very low point. The server was inattentive, we had to ask for our order twice, then she forgot part of the order. It was really a terrible experience. I walked into the door and the front desk guy was rude and felt that he acted in a racist way although I am a VIP member at OpenTable and had a reservation in a table that I was not seated at although my table was available. He picked a random table and asked me to sit at it. I have a bad back pain and when I told him it’s not the table I booked, he huffed and puffed and was not happy and kept looking at me in weird way like he wants me to leave.
