I just relocated to Seattle area and bought a sfh. I found the key inspection service in our company internal wiki for house owners with top review. Brian is available for the next day appointment. He helped me walking though the whole house, and gave lots of useful information about safety issue and maintenance. It is great pleasure to work with him. I will recommend him to my friends if needed.

Brian McDowell from Key Inspection Services is a top-notch inspector. He is very punctual, detail oriented and thorough. He takes the time to explain what he is seeing and why it is important. If you want a solid picture of the home you are buying, Key Inspection is the way to go. I recommend him without reservation.

Farren helped us inspect two houses, and we are very happy with his service. He inspected the house thoroughly and even storage shed(found some roof issue) as a courtesy with no additional charge, he also explained the problem/cause/fix/repair cost which is very useful for first time buyers. Needless to say, his report is very detail and came in 24 hours. He found foundation, roof flashing, water leakage issues for the first house, as to the second house, he explained us the deck structure and suggested us to check if ther... read more

I got an inspection with Farren done on a small "fixer-upper" home. After Farren's inspection, I quickly realized that with all of the foundation issues, roof issues, etc. it would not be a smart investment or use of my time. I absolutely credit Farren with saving me from buying a home I would not love. Fast forward two months and Farren is doing another inspection on a new home. He did his usual great routine, explained in very simple terms what was wrong with the home (which wasn't much). Due to Farren's excellent advice ... read more

I had Brian Mcdowell from Key Inspection Services come out to inspect a property I am contemplating purchasing. Brian (and Farren) both come with very high recommendations within our company's internal home owner wiki site. Brian showed up on time, which is impressive for a Sunday morning appointment. I was also impressed with how Brian was able to combine a thorough check-up while entertaining my questions about the property at the same time. He did not mind me tagging along, in fact he welcomed it as he covered the length... read more

We just happened to buy a new construction. Colleagues at work recommended Key Inspection Services for our house inspection, especially Farren West. I am so glad to have worked with Farren. I personally wanted to see myself all the inspection details covered because at the end of the day I would be the one who would own the house, so I should definitely know all the nitty-gritties of the house. So, I was kind of hoping that Farren would not mind that. Keep reading :-) He adjusted his time based on my schedule even though ... read more

I recently bought a house that Key Inspections had provided a pre-inspection for. They missed A LOT. Like over ten thousand dollars a lot. They caught plenty of small things to keep an eye on, but notably missed some major issues: - Mold in the basement bathroom (and an overall ventilation issue) - Multiple leaks in plumbing and water damage - Multiple dead electric outlets - Some serious electric code violations with the main panel When they performed the inspection, the house was furnished, but none of the above issues ... read more

Pretty disappointed , we called to make an inspection . We gave all our info for a house . We gave them location . ( they checked it and said the location was fine ) well guess what , now they said it's too far for them . ( I understand that things happen but with the initial appointment they "checked " ) we got the confirmation email today at 5:51 and literally 10 mins later they call to cancel because they didn't check properly . Poor management on their part . So disappointed.

They did a bad job. They didn't meet their own contractual obligations. We paid for them to scope our house sewer line but they scoped the city-owned portion of the sewer line out in the street. They didnt scope correctly & failed to take accountability for neglecting to do their job. Use literally anyone else & make sure they know what they're talking about before signing up to pay $900 for a handyman to look at things without knowing what they're looking at
