Going here since 1976. The service is weird now. Who's the server? Where's the server? Food but no utensils? Waiters with food and no clue where it goes. A Marx brothers movie. Some servers don't care at all.. Dirty plates, attitude, and sour faces. Emily P. and the buds need another job. Check for 5% service fee plus 20% tip.

I was in here today (Friday, 3/1/24) for the first time in years, and it'll likely be my last. I purchased a book and the sales associate ringing me up never once asked if I needed a bag (which I very much did). Finally when I asked if i could have a bag, he reluctantly grabbed a paper bag and haphazardly (barely) placed my purchase inside it. waitstaff is unhelpful, food is disgusting. it's a shame that such a nasty restaurant is associated with a great bookstore.

probably my least favorite bookstore in the district. It's overcrowded with both books and people and their selection is likely determined by which publishers can pay for a spot for the titles they want on their tables. Their food is good but overpriced, even relative to similar places in the area. I'm also still sad they cut their book space and converted it to a restaurant. Part of the overcrowdness is likely caused by them trying to fit more books into a smaller space- so it isn't easy to move around (and not accessible).... read more

Let me start my review by asking whoever monitors Kramer's negative reviews to please not reply to my post with their trite message "Please contact us so we can discuss." This is clearly feigned concern, and it will take something more original than that to convince me you're being genuine. Strike One I arrived at Kramers around 5:50pm and all was fine at first. This was a cute restaurant bookstore but food was overpriced and very bland. I ordered the Feddy Cheesesteak and it was almost flavorless. Would come for the bookstore vibes but not the food!

Ignored for almost 15 minutes before someone finally greeted and took my order. ​The place was not busy at all. I should have left right there, but decided to give this place a chance. Big mistake. I ordered a fedwich burger, the description sounded great. Brioche bun and the patties are smashed... What I ended up receiving was a burnt, happy meal quality burger on a potato bread bun. Quality and service has degraded in the new administration. Not the same it was. From a 3.5 now is less than 1.5. I have to say, not the best vibes! There is a hostile environment at the bar!!!Food is not the best but is not awful either. They need to figure out what experience/service the want to provide to their guests! Hadnt been to Kramers in years b/c the last time we were there the their ingredient quality had gone down especially in the mac and cheese. Today my friend and i said, lets give them a chance for lunch. We walked in through the back, who appeared to be the host, looked at us and turned her back on us so we assumed she didnt work there.
