Kramer's is definitely a must see if you're near the DuPont circle area. It a coffee/bar/bookstore, which is an interesting combo, but they definitely make it work. They have a good selection of newer books (mostly top seller lists) and a decent variety (they have some children's books in the back as well)! They have a cute outdoor patio where you can dine/read. They definitely managed to KRAM a lot into this little space. Definitely worth checking out!
Stopped in for lunch before a visit to the Phillips Museum - we've been here before and always enjoy it. Sandwiches are big enough to share and my son and I split the Cuban and an order of wings. My husband had the cream of crab soup (yes, soup is a meal) and it was a huge bowl of delicious soup. Great lunch, lovely atmosphere on an enclosed patio, with super service. Highly recommend when you're in D.C.
We had coffee on the patio. Coffee was so-so. The waitress was terrible, not sure if she was just having a bad day. The bookstore was cute. I would recommend the bookstore we really liked it, but coffee elsewhere.
Business response:
Hello Tracie, We are glad that you enjoyed the bookstore. Please contact us at info@kramers.com so we can discuss your experience in the restaurant.
What a fun place. We had the ham Benedict, crab Benedict and waffle with strawberries...all excellent. The restaurant is just off of DuPont circle and is also a bookstore...the combination is fun and is excellent on both fronts. The take reservations for breakfast, a big plus, and have both indoor and outdoor seating. A great choice if you are in the area!
Besides being a great book store. This place is a great brunch spot. I had the chicken and waffles. Very tasty and fresh. The chicken was very well breaded and fried to perfection. They have a lot of outside seating in the patio area. They have a tent outside that protects from the sun but still able to enjoy the nice weather on a nice day. Looking forward to visiting again soon!
