Neighborhood and DC local hangout. This isn't just an amazing bookstore but fun hangout meeting spot and restaurant (brunch!) place. I've been coming here for a decade. This isn't just a franchise bookstore experience. Service has always been at least 4*. Who doesn't love books. With online options driving franchise bookstores out of business, I'm delighted to see Kramers going strong. I mean, who doesn't love books. Keep this spot in your rolodex for just about any meetup options.
Kramer's was such a cute idea; combining books and multiple food options! I enjoyed the bbq fries even though I'm not a bbq person, and the burger was fine. The garlic sauce was somewhat overpowering. The veggie lasagna my friend ordered looked good.
Kramer Books Store is a charming little gem located in the heart of DuPont Circle. Upon entering, you are greeted with the warm, inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the sight of shelves upon shelves of literature. While the space can feel a bit cramped when the store is filled with shoppers, it kind of adds to the cozy atmosphere. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, making it easy to lose track of time as you peruse the shelves. Overall, Kramer Books a delightful destination for book lovers. Highly recommende... read more
An amazing book store with a fantastic selection. My only request to improve it even more would be to add a chair or two in the book section.
Found this gem on a recent visit to DC. I was looking for a bookstore where I could have a meal and work for a little bit. Kramers did not disappoint. There were only a few people on the restaurant side when I arrived, so I got quick service. I was planning to work there for a while, so I ordered tea, an appetizer, and meal. The salmon Benedict and accompanying greens were PERFECT. And the deviled eggs with Old Bay seasoning also left me wanting more and more. Will definitely be back and recommend to other folks!
Kramer's is a lovely spot to eat and work at. I ordered the Fettuccine New Orleans and it was flavorful and so light! The weather was nice today so I sat outside in the garden area and it was very calming. Service was phenomenal, initially I couldn't order an iced mocha because their coffee machine broke so my server gave me an iced coffee on the house until it was fixed!
Nice little bookstore. It was really crowded the Saturday morning we went. We got brunch in the restaurant in the back of the bookstore. I had the yogurt parfait and my partner had the Kramers breakfast. Both were mediocre and I felt too expensive for the quality and taste. Would have given it a 2 but extra star for being inside a bookstore I guess.

Hello Veronica, this is helpful feedback. Please contact us at info@kramers.com so we can discuss.
We had a lovely brunch at Kramers. We arrived around 1:30pm and were seated immediately. We had brunch cocktails to begin. I ordered the chicken and waffles, which was a good sized portion and came with coleslaw. The chicken had a good breading, and the butter on the waffle had a nice seasoning. I also tried the cornbread pudding, which was decent, but not worth going out of your way to order. The chocolate pudding was divine and good for sharing. Service was fairly slow, and we had to flag down our waitress multiple times, ... read more
I woke up this morning with a hankering for hearty breakfast food. In the search bar of my phone's Safari app, I entered: 'breakfast joint that ain't skimpin' on the eggs'. The top result was 'Kramers'. 'Hmmm, Kramers', I thought to myself, 'Pretty edgy name for a Seinfeld-themed brunch spot'. Sure, the guy is racist, but I guess he deserves a restaurant? Turns out, however, that Kramers is not another one of Larry David's creative endeavors. Instead, it is a DC's stronghold institution that has been serving the community... read more
