We chose the hotel based on the airport shuttle that was promoted on the website. We arrive and inquire about the shuttle for the next morning and was informed it starts at 5:00 am, which would not work for a 6:00 am flight, especially when there are well known TSA delays. Additionally, the cleanliness of the hotel was questionable at best. Needs a refresh. Room key card readers were problematic for many guests. Breakfast was good and room was clean, but common areas are in need of attention…… stained ceiling tiles, peeling wall coverings, just a dingy feeling.
My La Quinta experience started with a very disappointing airport 'shittle' pickup in Austin. After calling the hotel, I was told the shuttle would arrive shortly—but while I waited, several full-sized hotel shuttles came and went with courteous drivers assisting guests with luggage. When La Quinta’s “shuttle” finally arrived, it was a small SUV with a paper sign taped to the window. The bathroom are not at their best
The bathroom looked not clean
Room has seen better days, is very very old and the bathtub is nasty, the bathroom door doesn’t even stay close, it had a cigarette smell and the “free breakfast” was very very poor, we even had issues opening the door to the room because the handle opens up… If you have a ESA Dog they will charge you extra por him too.
We are now out hundreds of dollars due to damage to our vehicle that was so severe it was inoperable by a hazard on the property. Upon entering the main entrance of the property from Ben White Blvd, there is a huge piece of the metal grate in the driveway that is missing. There’s no appropriate signage cautioning guests about this hazard and it was nighttime so I drove my car right into this hole. I will be filing a formal complaint. I warn others about booking here. Staff was friendly but rooms were in need of much updating. Mildew around tubs, bathroom doors did not fit correctly, elevator had seen better days. Breakfast was below expectation.
Hotel key gave us problems each time we tried to use it, the rooms were so incredibly noisy you couldn't get any sleep. The knob on the bathroom door was broken and caught on my clothes several time.
