Overall disappointing The lobby is cold, impersonal, ugly and really a disappointment. The photo on Booking.com makes it look like some historic beautiful place but it is definitely not that. In fact the entire facade of the building is surrounded by scaffolding so you can’t even see what the hotel looks like from the outside, but really, that doesn’t matter as the inside is so entirely unimpressive. Bad experience The room was very disappointing – it smelled bad, the air conditioner was too noisy to sleep, and the window was broken. We couldn’t open it anyway because of loud street noise. When we asked to change rooms (we had booked 10 nights), the front desk staff was rude and unhelpful, even suggesting we just wanted a bigger room. They refused to write down our request and told us to come back after 5 days. Very uncomfortable stay and very poor service. Close to subway

Fair Room was outdated. Bathrooms also needed a refresh. Two very small elevators that are very slow and usually only one was operating as the housekeeping staff had the other out of service. Lobby very dark and unwelcoming. No in-hotel sundries to purchase water, snacks etc. Ice makers out of service on our floor. Expected nicer accommodations for the price. Good location. Close to subway.

Not coming back It had no food options, rooms were of dubious cleanliness, smelled of smoke, one morning I had no hot water, coffee was not regularly replenished, quite shocking for over 400 a night Location

Run down and poor value for money - Wouldn't recommend. The room looks like it is from the 80s, old furniture (and not in a nice looking way), the carpet looked grimey and the sockets didn't work. They provided no bottled water for the room. There is basically no lobby at the bottom. The bathroom was clean.The street outside is busy and often dirty. would probably look for somewhere else to stay. the phones were not working at the hotel and it was unreachable - we wanted to check in early - but couldnt reach the front desk - when we arrived the front desk seemed unconcerned about the phones and said they didn't believe there was a problem - I tried 3 different numbers for about 12 hours - I was concerned that they might not be operating.
