To charge $48 for a simple salad, 7/8 small slices of duck breast, less than 1/4 cup of Kabocha purée, and a scoop of zabaglione that had a bad after taste was extremely disappointing. While I had a lot to be thankful for on Thanksgiving, this meal was not one of them.
Service and atmosphere was quite nice, however the food was sub-par.
Four of us went, all with completely different palates. None of us enjoyed the food. Nothing was bad, it just wasn't good. We went with really high expectations (what with it being one of the top 10 in the country) and all four of us were disappointed. $19 lasagna that had a horrible sauce, linguini and clams that was bland and oily, and two risotto dishes that tasted like rice-a-roni. Service was excellent, food was just not impressive.
food was ok, olive garden would be a better option.
My veal piccata was very good but the others in our group said their dishes were just "mediocre"
You know...I was really looking forward to this place after reading reviews, and while the food was good, it was not spectacular. In all fairness, we did not dine until 9pm....one hour before closing, which surprised me as this was Friday night inside a 24 hour Casino! We were sat next to a large foundation block, which was probably a good thing as the we were very close to the kitchen, and the NOISE was just awful as they were trying to clean up for the evening. We had a reservation, were running 10 minutes late, and called way ahead to let them know we would be a bit late. We ended up standing at the host stand for over 20 minutes waiting for a table. We never got an update from the hostess on what was going on...everyone just disappeared into the restaurant. Several other people came up and, seeing no one at the front of the restaurant to answer their questions, walked away. Not as good as in the past. The food was not seasoned appropriately. Really disappointed.
We've eaten here several times in the past, and have always enjoyed it. I ordered a pasta dish w/ chicken off the early bird menu. The chicken tasted dry and the seasoning didn't have a good flavor. It was like it was microwaved, or maybe poached about a week before....perhaps then frozen. I don't know. The pasta sauce itself , didn't have a good flavor, either.
