Kind of sad. Proposed to my wife in this restaurant years ago. It used to be very high quality with excellent menu selections. Unfortunately La Strada is slipping in quality. Had the risotto this time and was not really impressed. It's just a lot of rice with some grisly sausage. About 12 years ago they reduce their menu and it's been declining ever since. They should get with the times and get some bread and pasta gluten-free options. All that wheat just makes one sick.
9/22/18, 5 covers @ 5:30PM. We were informed by our server that no salad would be served with a protein due to the amount of reservations that evening. We were forced to order our salmon on the ‘side’, then at service, place the fish on the salad ourselves. The chef needs to explain this reasoning to me, it’s ridiculous!!
Unfortunately, our experience was not a great one. Service was incredibly slow. We arrived promptly for our reservation, but had to wait nearly 10 minutes to be seated. It took 15 minutes to be acknowledged that we had been seated, we finally ordered after waiting 45 minutes, and time to deliver the food was about 40 minutes after ordering. I was recommended to this place by a coworker. I was super excited to have the same experience as my coworker. We had a reservation, but did not need it. It was not a busy night. We were seated right away. Everything on the menu sounded great. We ordered the Minestrone, Calamari Fritti, the Chicken Parmigiana and the Risotto Mare' Monti. What a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! My wife ordered scallops, we were later informed they were out of scallops they asked her to select another choice off the menu. Her second selection shrimp scampi I think to make up time they prepared her dish hastily the meal was prepared poorly. No sauce on the pasta the shrimp had no taste
I been to La Strada before, and it was pretty good. My friends wanted to go to dinner, and I said lets go to La Strada. To start, the "PAPPA AL POMODORO" SOUP was extra salty. 1) My order RIGATONI with Roasted Duck: it was plain, no taste in there. Margherita pizza - a soggy falling apart mess with an undercooked crust. Spaghetti Carbonara - a congealed mass of inedible spaghetti cooked hours if not days beforehand. Waiter who was pleasant and polite but completely ignorant of Italian cuisine and wines. Olive Garden where are you when we need you?
This was our second visit within the last 3 months. We really enjoyed the professionalism, ambiance and the food and decided to return for another great meal. To our disappointment our calamari was under cooked, waiter was mediocre, and our meal was average. We missed that foreign young lady that waited on us the last time. It just wasn't the same. I am so disappointed!! The service was absolutely the worst. Dinner took over 2.5 hours due to the wait in between entries. The wait was ridiculous!! The server never came in between to see if we needed more drinks. We sat in a corner next to the kitchen, couldn't hear yourself think!All of this for a $250.00 dinner. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AND I AM A LOCAL
