Worst meal with worst service ... ever. Shrimp over cooked ... scallops over cooked. Linguine undercooked and arrived after chicken was finished. Could not get wqiter’s attention. Polenta tasted burned. Risotto smelled funny. Scallops gritty & sandy (not well washed.) Just absolutely horrible.
Hostess was very rude sat another customers before us we had a reservation for 5 o’clock and we were the first ones at the hostess stand. She sat four other tables before us I asked her about it and she pretty much said it is what it is. I’m a six generation Nevadan and I think the El Dorado is no longer in Place for locals.
Our reservation was for 8:15, we still waited another 20 minutes. There were others that were waiting for their reservations too. Why have a reservation if that is going to happen?
I ordered the fettuccini Alfredo. The waiter asked if I would like shrimp or chicken with it. I requested shrimp. Apparently, all they had was frozen or canned shrimp that they just through in with the Alfredo sauce including the water or ice making the Alfredo sauce like soup. When I complained they did not charge me. Not acceptable for supposedly one of the best restaurants in Reno.
Service was not good. Had to wait almost an hour for our food
This is my 3rd time here and the last time. Was there on Saturday evening at 6:30. Party of 2. Service: New food server, she was super sweet but didn't know how to open a bottle of wine. She said it was her 2nd night there. If it was her 2nd night there, why wasn't she shadowed by a manager. Polenta on both dishes really tasted like dirty hockey pucks. The proteins we both ordered were good and very hot. The veggies were horrible. Quality has gone down here.
Over priced for the atmosphere and noise level. Expected a quiet intimate dinner as shown on their website but instead we got a screaming kid & rude guests at tables near us. Tourists under dressed for the type of restaurant this is advertised to be. Won't make that mistake again! If I wanted that much noise I would have gone to the Buffet!
My husband and I have been to La Strada many times. We were so looking forward to a wonderful, best of Italian meal, in Reno as in the past. What we got was excuse my language "crap". I ordered Veal Saltimbocca - when it arrived it was shoe leather -no prosciutto if it was there it was embedded into the bad leather veal. I returned the meal and asked for veal pecatta instead. The food was outstanding at La Strada. However, our experience began on a sour note with the dismissive attitude conveyed by the hostess. We had a 5pm reservation and arrived early at 4:50pm. We sat just outside the bar and waited until 5pm when we saw the hostess invite guests from the bar to their table. I approached the hostess and she said we should go outside and wait in line.
