I'm not sure was has occurred over the last 18 months but this visit was an unbelievable thumbs down. Host was short, had to ask a few times for refills (never returned after asked) food was awfully dry and bland. I was embarrassed for the restaurant.
This was our 28th Wedding Aniversry. And unfortunately we can't get a do over. We started out great up to our appetizer and salad. We waited a good 15+ minutes I ordered the Veal Parm (average at best) and my husband ordered the Seafood Linguini & when it arrived my husbands plate looked like it had sat quite awhile, (as the pasta was spaghetti not linguine) was dried out and undercooked. The food came out really dry and had the texture as if it was put in a microwave. The scallops were a complete rip off with only 3 small scallops. I would not recommend the food here.
My plate I asked for vegetables and no potatoes I got two tea spoons of corn with my filet that was pre cut up??
Very disappointing. Had to wait at the bar to be seated. Bar Maid did not acknowledge us and after 15 minutes asked if I wanted anything to drink but neglected to ask my husband. I ordered a margarita on the rocks with salt. My drink was on the rocks with sugar --- yuuuuuk! I had to find a waiter in the bar area to fix the problem. Not at all as I remembered in the past. No sever for 10 plus minutes. Did not know what she was talking about. Said the salad had SHAVED blue cheese? It was parmesan! Right I'm a cook nice try. The entrée was SO SO. Will go back to Va Levecchi.
The service is so slow. Even having a reservation we had to wait 10 minutes in line because the host and hostess were setting tables instead of checking people in. The food was over cooked. The fish was dry. The wine list limited. I would say it's way overrated Call it mediocre at best
Our waiter was not helpful, got our order wrong, and ignored us when we tried to correct it. We wanted to just get up and leave! Out previous experiences there have been much better.
I would highly recommend not scheduling a 5pm reservation as that 's when the restaurant opens and the staff are not prepared to seat or care for that many guests. We were sat next to kitchen but our server was hard of hearing so we had to ask for things multiple times and almost shout or argue to get the service requested. The food was good - we know the chef who is great.
