I am waiting in a line 8 people deep wanting to buy stuff but there is no cashier. When I told the two gentlemen chatting in the back there was a line. They told me that they were on the phone (pointing to a ringing phone that neither of them were on) and for me to wait. 20 mins later no cashier and a few guys on the floor helping customers pick out lamps. This place is completely void of common business sense.
I purchased four fans from this store in July of this year and paid an installer to come out to install these fans. Mind you this installer that I hired had been installing fans for over 15 years and had the requisite ability to install all types of fans. The first three fans went up quite easily and we found the fourth fan to be faulty. After contacting Lamps Plus, they sent out one of their own installers to replace the faulty fan. This store has a nice variety of merchandise, but no one to wait on customers. I was in the store at 2 pm on a Thursday. I only saw one sales person who was waiting on another customer. Needless to say, no one asked to help me with my lampshade selection. I had some questions but went ahead & made a selection. After waiting at the counter for at least 15 minutes to pay for these items & without another sales person in sight, I gave up & left.
Items in store look cheaper and less quality than they do online. Service is horrible. Took forever to get help by an associate and even when one tried to help us he had no clue what we wanted even after explaining it to him a couple of times. For example we have one ceiling light in our dark bathroom so we needed fixture that would give a good amount of light. All the associate kept talking about was a vanity light over our mirror. When the fixture I purchased was installed one of the four light sockets didn't work. Upon calling the store and holding for over five minutes, the "manger" Mark finally came on the line. (This wait was far shorter than the wait in the store for employee help....that took over 15 minutes, when employees were talking in the back room.) Andre Patrick at Lamps Plus (Colorado Blvd location) - SPatrick@LampsPlus.com -- 303-756-1314-- exceptional guy. If you're in the store, observe how he works with his customers. He also matched the online price. Andre's ET2 recommendation, as one of several brands to pursue for the contemporary lighting was great. The ET2 brand 5-light Fizz IV over the island is a key highlight of our kitchen. So glad we went for it! We would not have found it without Andre's insights. So this review is based solely on customer service because as far as light fixtures they do have a lot of nice items. I came here to purchase all our basement light fixtures since we are currently finishing our basement. A lady walks up to me and ask: "are you looking or buying?" Uh my answer is well i'm looking and if I find something I would buy it. What am I suppose to just buy stuff w/o looking??? This company is the Ebola of lighting stores. They kill their customers through scams and by ignoring your requests. My most recent adventure entailed me calling up the Colorado Blvd location up about a particular lamp which they said "oh sure, we have that in stock, we'll put it aside for you". When I got there, the "in stock" item turned out to be something off their sales floor (or a return?) they had the audacity to pass off as new. How do I know it was used? Last week I went into the store looking for mirrors. It was very busy -- but mostly people standing around waiting for the two sales people to get to them. I sat in a chair for nearly 30 minutes, so while at it, I started price shopping for the mirrors I was looking for. I finally was able to round someone up, but they don't carry inventory, so he got on the internet and ordered the mirrors for me (something I could have done from home, but that was fine).
