How can I even start this... January 5th 2022 7:30 am dropped off my 10 month old puppy to get neutered at Laurelwood Animal Hospital. And that's how the nightmare started. Upon drop off we were told that we would receive updates through the day about the surgery or any other information to keep us up to date with any information. My dog was sick, they advised blood work, still waiting 3 day's later and she got worse, they said do fecal test, then they closed without any call with results, what to do and now it looks like I'll be going to emergency - this could of been prevented if they followed through on their word , testing they said they would do (which they had me pay for before hand). The front desk is unresponsive. You're lucky to reach them and it takes multiple attempts. They don't return messages. The veterinarian seems checked out and doesn't attend well to their patient needs in any timely way. Definitely go elsewhere.
The care is extremely good, but Getting access to the care is super difficult. I've never called and been put on hold for less than 10 min. Today I called and was on hold over 15 min. Before I hung up and recalled and was placed on hold again for 10 min. Before I gave up. They really have to do something about intake. It's just horrible.
Really disappointed. I had loved this place and understand how hard it has been with Covid. However, they are so understaffed that they never called (as promised) to reschedule my 2 dogs appointments. After multiple calls and emails I was not able to reschedule and I am still waiting for several weeks to get my dogs records to a new Vet. I don't know how you can run a business like this, keeping my pet records hostage when I'm only trying to keep them healthy. I just lowered my star review from 2 to 1. Not sure what exactly people are loving so much about this place, my experience wasn't so enjoyable. We have 2 cats and a puppy, clinics gladly signed us all up once they've heard that we have multiple pets without mentioning they are so busy. Our first visit with routine health check for a cat. It went well, doctor Erdman even came out and talked with me. However everything changed after this. Their schedule is so overbooked that you can only get appointment 2+ weeks in future. Just brought my dog to Laurelwood Animal Hospital and was greeted by the most rude vet tech ever. First thing she said was how fat our dog was. I will add that he is in fact at a perfect weight for his breed. Gets exercised everyday. What a terrible way to greet a paying customer. There are nice ways to say things. I have encountered many rude people here and will not be bringing my pet back.
I would HIGHLY suggest staying away from this clinic. It is impossible for this practice to offer quality service and comprehensive overview of your pet's health as they keep hand-written medical records that are not kept in chronological order. Considering their elevated fees, this clinic is as outdated as it is incompetent. In the 7 month period I took my ailing Maine Coon to see Dr Earp for chronic vomiting and diarrhea, he NEVER suggested an x-ray, an ultrasound, fine needle aspiration, etc. I was only upsold a very co... read more
Dr. Erdman and Dr. Earp are wonderful, and are very caring doctors. They really have a way with animals. BUT, getting to actually see them is such an effort! Twice this month I've had to leave without seeing the doctor because the wait was so long (over an hour and 15 minutes) and I had to get back to work. I am happy if I only have to wait for 30-45 minutes--that's like a miracle. But if emergencies come in, the doctors of course see to those and then all the appointments get pushed back further and further. I love that you... read more
