Dr. Earp and Dr. Franklin are as wonderful as vets can be. They truly care about your animal's health, your comfort and knowledge with what is wrong with your animal (be it big or small), and your wallet. It is the first time in a lifetime of dog ownership I have enjoyed taking my dog to the vet, been happy with the bill, and the most relaxed my dog and I have ever been through the whole process.
Laurelwood Animal Hospital is fantastic. My husband and I have had critters and, with them, of course vets, our whole lives, a combined total of 157 YEARS. There have been the most sorrowful times when we've faced having to put our pets down, like most pet owners. Never have we been treated so passionately and effectively when we had our beloved Golden treated for pancreatitis and it became clear to Dr. Erdman and our family that the humane thing was to let her move on to a more serene place. Not only is Dr. Erdman the most... read more
Dr. Earp and staff at the Laurelwood Animal Hospital are fantastic. We were so glad to find him again and followed him over from his other practice. Dr. Earp has cared for the dogs in our family for over 15 years. I like that the fact that his first solution is never to push pills and meds on you and gives you plenty of options to help whatever ailment is going on. He is a very kind and loving vet. Our late golden Chamois had physical ailments the last two years of her life. Dr. Earp was very compassionate with us du... read more
Our dog, Sparky, passed away at the age of 17. We followed Dr. Earp from his former clinic, and he has been our vet for many years. Sparky was mostly healthy but whenever we had to take Sparky in to his clinic, we were confident that Sparky was in good hands and Dr. Earp proved it every time. After a visit, he never failed to call us to follow up, asking how Sparky was doing. When Sparky died, the compassion he and his staff extended to us was a great consolation. Dr. Earp is the most caring and compassionate doctor we have... read more
I've just moved to the Portland area from Eugene where I thought I had the best vet in the world.......so a hard act to follow to say the least, but I found another stellar vet in Dr. Earp. His staff got my sick puppy in right away and although I know he was booked back to back, I didn't feel he rushed us - in fact took time to explain x-rays and even gave first dose of medicine so I could see how it was done. The next morning I got a follow up call from him to find out how Chance was doing. Really wonderful feeling to kn... read more
Friends recommended Dr. Earp at Laurelwood Animal Hospital when it was time to put our 16 year old dog to sleep. It was a terrible, but logical decision, as he was senile and feeble. Dr. Earp had never met us until that sad day. We were met with so much compassion and respect, we wanted another pet just to be able to do business with this company. The entire staff is skilled and terrific to work with in every situation. We now have a cat who came with some issues. Dr. Earp didn't toss medicine and treatments at him, ... read more
Dr. Erdman is really nice and when you can get time with her is great with the animals. Dr. Franklin is rude and offputting - I'll never see him again. The front desk is dysfunctional in the extreme. It is almost impossible to get scheduled and they never call you back. It needs to be fixed. Real mixed bag
Business response:

We appreciate your feedback and will work on improving our scheduling process and customer service. If you have any further concerns, please feel free to reach out to us at (971) 244-4230. Thank you.
Very over priced and one particular doctor not very friendly and frankly gave bad medical advice. I really didn't want to spend anymore money but took cat to another clinic for a second opinion. Laurelhurst wanted to do another expensive procedure where the second opinion recommended weight loss before spending more money. Simple as that our cat is better! Actually a sad example of unsympathetic and irresponsible veterinary care.
Business response:

I can't say enough bad things about this place. First of all, very over priced, they ripped you off on everything they can. The vet (Dr Franklin) is so unprofessional and rude, zero vet-owner skills, he made me felt so uncomfortable and uneasy when he was checking my dog, he didnt show any compassion for my dog or empathy. I couldn't wait to leave and not bringing my dog ever again. The place is a mess, they are so busy that they can't keep up with everything, terrible experience.
