Worst vet I've been to in San Diego. Currently, I am sitting at an urgent care at 11am on Friday when lifetime SHOULD be open. Their voicemail says they are closed, I've received no email or text that office hours would be different. My dog was just attacked by another dog. I pay for the paw plan with them which I extremely regret doing. Besides this current issue, anytime I visit them they go with the most costly and invasive treatment..for example my dog had a simple ear infection and they wanted to put an implant/stint in... read more

It's disappointing when you've been waiting for an appointment that was scheduled two weeks ago to get cancelled the week of. My dog and I have been patiently waiting for this appointment and the receptionist showed no consideration or apologized for the inconvenience, yet wanted to schedule me three weeks out. While my past experience has been great, the moment I need an appointment; the rescheduling is disheartening. For the receptionist to blow it off only adds more discomfort towards wanting to reconsider this location f... read more

Business response:

Dear Vin, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent experience with us. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the cancellation of your appointment. We understand how frustrating it can be when plans change, especially when you have been waiting patiently. We want to assure you that this situation does not reflect our commitment to providing excellent care for our furry patients and their owners. We deeply regret that our receptionist failed to show consideration and did not offe... read more

We began coming to Lifetime many years ago under previous ownership and loved the old vet. He retired and sold this vets office to a corporation. Sadly, personalized care deteriorated. we had purchased their "paw plan" and things were fine until our dog needed an appointment for the same day. Our dog suffered from a spine issue she greatly aggravated while in a kennel. The kennel caused her much stress and aggravation, making her condition much worse due to her agitation. They would not see our very sick dog the day of... read more

Came here once. Never again. The front desk people do the absolute minimum and are not friendly. The vet was judgmental and was more like a car salesman trying to sell us on every little thing rather than actually listening to our concerns. They do always have appointments available so if you do have to bring your pets here make sure you ask all the right questions so as not to put your pet through any unnecessary procedures or meds and be specific when talking with the front desk people about what you need otherwise they wo... read more

I enrolled in the Paw Plan. Seven months in to a year long plan, I was just informed she was not eligible for any more services because I am refusing a rabies vaccine. This is my second year on the plan and I have never accepted a rabies vaccine. (I am NOT an anti vaxer, she has all her other vaccines). I was just informed that this was a policy change. I called to make my appointment three weeks ago and was not informed of this. I specifically remember them saying she's due for her rabies vaccine and my response was she w... read more

Business response:

Thank you for your feedback, Molly. Rabies is a vaccine required by California state law to protect the health & safety of the public. We are sorry that you are disappointed in this policy, but it is something we are required to follow by law unless you can provide a rabies exemption due to medical circumstances, as our technician explained. In addition, it is imperative that we protect our staff members as well as the general public as a medical facility. When a PAW Plan client requests to cancel their plan, we are required... read more

The doctor we have encountered on our recent visits is great. But in agreement with the other reviewers, the front desk and the techs are rude. I am not sure which tech we encountered today when we arrive ON time for our appointment and weren't seen for another 20 minutes when there was not one other single person in the waiting room. The tech is the same as the one we received last time with extremely long acrylic nails. We were told after our puppy had his 3rd and final distemper shot to book a follow up check up appointme... read more

Business response:

Megan, thank you for discussing your experience with me on the telephone this morning. I appreciate you bringing it to my attention and for your time in providing me with additional details so that I can handle the situation appropriately. Again, I am terribly sorry for the negative experience that you and your puppy had and appreciate you giving us the feedback needed so that we can ensure that we provide the most compassionate care possible to every pet that enters our doors.

The vets themselves are great, but the front desk/office staff is awful. Admittedly we were late to an appointment (25 minutes, as I ,mixed up the appointment time), then waited for a few extra minutes to be seen once inside the office. There were two people working the desk. The person who helped me was rude and stated they only hold the appointment for 30 minutes. When we responded that we were there before the 30 minute window expired, she responded well it's 30 minutes now (after I had waited at the desk). The woman was ... read more

Business response:

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry that you have this perspective on the situation. We have reviewed the tape of the encounter so that we have the information needed to reply effectively. When you arrived, we explained that we are booked out for the day and that we would be more than happy to reschedule. The entire encounter was extremely pleasant on both sides and we were very helpful in giving recommendations. When a client is 30 minutes late, which was the case here, we often need to reschedule as it would ... read more

My dog ended up seven months overdue for her rabies vaccine because Lifetime staff screwed up when they added her vaccine records. She had a one year rabies shot, and they put it in as three years. I only found out because I had to get a license for my dog, and the SD Humane Society required the actual vaccine certificate, not just vet records. When they saw it, they pointed out that the vet records were wrong. If not for that, she would've been two years overdue for her vaccine. Now I'm trying to order flea and tick pills... read more

Business response:

Thank you for your feedback, Alex. We are sorry if you experienced confusion in our communications and if administrative errors were made. To clarify, the vaccine given for rabies is the same and the length until next dosage is dependent on the age of the dog and whether it has had the vaccine previously. We regret if there was miscommunication in the messaging and will work to do better so that this will not occur for anyone again. Our office is able to sell single-doses of heartworm/flea/tick medications, but they are gene... read more

Completely rude and uncaring staff. These people do not care about your pets, but only about the bottom line which is getting your money. They told me to starve my dog for 10 days because they won't fill his prescription diet when his annual isn't even due until the end of the month. Absolutely disgusting behavior, and we will never be back. This place is an embarrassment to facilities that actual care about pets.
