My dog ended up seven months overdue for her rabies vaccine because Lifetime staff screwed up when they added her vaccine records. She had a one year rabies shot, and they put it in as three years. I only found out because I had to get a license for my dog, and the SD Humane Society required the actual vaccine certificate, not just vet records. When they saw it, they pointed out that the vet records were wrong. If not for that, she would've been two years overdue for her vaccine. Now I'm trying to order flea and tick pills... read more

Business response:

Thank you for your feedback, Alex. We are sorry if you experienced confusion in our communications and if administrative errors were made. To clarify, the vaccine given for rabies is the same and the length until next dosage is dependent on the age of the dog and whether it has had the vaccine previously. We regret if there was miscommunication in the messaging and will work to do better so that this will not occur for anyone again. Our office is able to sell single-doses of heartworm/flea/tick medications, but they are gene... read more

Completely rude and uncaring staff. These people do not care about your pets, but only about the bottom line which is getting your money. They told me to starve my dog for 10 days because they won't fill his prescription diet when his annual isn't even due until the end of the month. Absolutely disgusting behavior, and we will never be back. This place is an embarrassment to facilities that actual care about pets.

I'm bummed to write this review but I'm super upset about how the front desk handled a situation. I made an appointment for a booster shot for two of my dogs who received the first dose a couple weeks prior. Given a family emergency I had to reschedule. No problem. Rescheduled. But they only rescheduled one of my dogs not both. I called the day of to confirm the appointment and they said it was only for the one. Since it was a booster it has to be done within a certain amount of time. I asked if they could just do both dog... read more

Dr. Hardy cared for many of my pets for their respective lifetimes. He was a true professional. He took the time to explain his plan and answer all questions. The animals, even one cat who only like me, trusted him. I woudn't have worried about continuing with Lifetime except I recieved a letter from Lifetime's new staff saying that my dog needed a rabies shot. This, of course, would be the normal procedure. ... read more

Business response:

Thank you for giving us your feedback, A.M. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with our client service. It sounds like we neglected to suspend the reminder for your pet's rabies vaccination, and, due to this oversight, you were called with a reminder. Unfortunately, we don't have enough information about you or your pet to investigate further in terms of the missed email or phone call correspondence; however, we can understand your frustration and are sorry that it caused you to lose trust in our services. Thank... read more

If you sort the reviews in date order you may start to see a trend. My family has been taking our pets here for 30 years, but it is no longer the place it was. Dr. Hardy is no longer running the show here and it is now a corporate money making machine that will nickel and dime you all the way with a revolving door of temporary vets. I would pay for a yearly check up and they would charge for a routine procedure (anal glands) on top of it. The new vet did not double charge and told me it was included....it was so refreshi... read more

Business response:

We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with our services. Dr. Hardy was a wonderful and integral part of Lifetime, but he has not owned the practice for a decade. He was a beloved doctor here until last year when he chose to retire as the pandemic hit. Since that time, we have been very busy as have most veterinary services during the pandemic. We have supplemented our staff doctor with relief vets in order to serve as many patients as possible and be able to help more pets. The relief doctors that we have hosted are... read more

This place is terrible. I should have known something was wrong when they had openings for appts the next day when others were booked weeks out. All this place wants is your money and will upcharge you to the upmost. When i called to verify charges, they simply stated i should have read my contract better. $500 for a visit and puppy shots was not what i was quoted on the phone, nor what i agreed to when they came to my car with their recommendations. If you are military there are tons of free and low cost per care facilities... read more

Made an appointment with the intention of paying $700-800 up front for the year plan for my cat. Horrible customer service and people. I made an appointment for 11 and was never told because of COVID I would have to wait out front with my cat and couldn't go in with her. So I call to check in and it's 11:15 and we still have not been seen. I was willing to get all of cats care done here, and I made my appointment weeks ahead of time and they couldn't see us in a timely manner and the front desk receptionist was especially ru... read more

Business response:

We are sorry that you were disappointed with your visit. Curbside visits can be challenging and we try to keep wait times to a minimum, but as medicine is unpredictable we can sometimes fall behind as we triage. Regarding our surgery admittance, we give a window of 7:30 to 8:30 am to allow for us to ensure that we have appropriate information as the pets are undergoing anesthetic procedures. We have to take clients as they arrive and our receptionist had to finish assisting the first arrival prior to getting your cat checked... read more

Absolutely fucking useless. Federal mandate states a Heath certificate must be within 10 days and no greater. This vet does not feel comfortable doing a health check, within these 10 days because there's too many signatures required. No help whatsoever.

Business response:

Justin, We are sorry that you are upset. International health certificates are complex documents and have a variety of requirements. We need to ensure that there is time to get all the paperwork in place or you could have serious issues, such as your pet being denied boarding on flights or entry into the country. The government agencies from which signatures are needed are not open on weekends, so it requires more than the 3 business days that you allotted for completion of the process. It is our policy to be 100% transparen... read more

I will NEVER go to this place again, no matter what!!! My cat was hit by a car the other morning & a witness rushed him to this office and left him there to wait for me to get there. When I arrived I had to bang and bang on the windows to get anyone's attention. I told them my cat was just brought in - they said ok - just a minute. After about 10 minutes a woman came out with my cat in her hands - no towel - he was just dangling there - & she said they weren't an emergency vet and couldn't do ANYTHING. She said, " I don'... read more

Business response:

Ma’am, your pet was brought in by someone who found it in the road. We asked the individual to take the cat to an ER as we had no medical staff in the hospital as we had not opened for business. They refused to do so and we kept the pet in our hospital and called the Humane Society who agreed to dispatch an officer, despite there being no visible signs of life in the pet. When you arrived at the hospital about ten minutes later, you asked for your cat and we explained that we had no medical staff on the premises and to take ... read more
