I use to really like coming here but I feel like now this place cares more about money than animals. When taking in my cats for routine annual they are now pushing this extra bloodwork that they did not suggest before. If they didn't before, were they being negligent in not testing and if not were they just doing the bloodwork to get extra money? Either way it didn't settle well with me. I am pet sitting for a friend it was out of the country. We were afraid is 7 pound Chihuahua mix had some issues due to the smell of his breath and urine and we wanted to take him in for blood work. The dog is a A biter and going to the vet is extremely dramatic for him. Horrible experience at Loves. Been in Austin for years and have used several vets. By far the worst. All about the money. Terrible office manager. My dog was dying of cancer and they turned their back on me. I agree with the other folks. Just plain bad.

I started coming to this vet almost 20 years ago. It has unfortunately become clear that their level of care has gone extremely downhill to the point where I no longer feel comfortable bringing my pets here and have switched vets. My cat is 15 years old and has several severe health issues. Love has made it all but impossible for my cat to get the care she needs. I decided twice now to try and use this local vet clinic. Called twice 6 months apart (in case the first time was a fluke) but no. Each time the lady who answered the phone was rude and short. Not helpful and short with me. Again, I decided to go elsewhere. Ironically, I have a friend who uses this clinic and so I went with him one time. We waited in waiting room for about 30 minutes. I really liked this place. I came at the recommendation of a trusted friend. I'm going to keep this short - the negligence they displayed when caring for my dog's broken paw almost cost her her leg. My husband took her in to get treated and they misapplied the cast and the cast caused *more damage.* It wounded her so badly that we had to go to the vet ER and get her antibiotics ASAP... Unbelievable.

I was extremely disappointed in my experience with Love Pet Hospital. Not because they didn't treat my dog properly, but because I find their business practices abhorrent. My dog had a sudden problem, which I thought might be poisoning. Early morning, I called and tried to set up an appointment ASAP. Her first question was whether I was a client. I said no, and she said they had no openings that day. So I asked for an appointment the next morning. She said OK, but their policy is I have to prepay ($70 or whatever) to ... read more

My cat was diagnosed with FIP by my regular vet. He sent me to the specialist. The specialistic told met that it's a fatal disease and there is no cure. She told me that if I wanted to try alternative medicine to please do. I made an appointment with Dr. Love. She's was book until 1 and 1/2 weeks out. I thought my cat wouldn't live long enough to see Dr. Love. During that waiting period I had to take my cat to the ER two more times to remove fluid from his chest. We transferred here a bit ago after moving into the South Austin area. While I do enjoy some of the doctors and the cleanliness of their clinic, I cannot believe the lack of professionalism in this place. It has been twice now that I have come with my pet, only to have to listen to the young receptionists and the older office manager go on and on about how they treat their boyfriends, gossip this, gossip that, oh my god this, oh my god that.
