i went here after a friend of mine told me to go check it out..didnt know that i would be paying about $200 to get my dog the shots and to be looked at..they asked me if i wanted to get my dog's nails cut and i said sure..didnt think it would cost much at all but it did! ive paid 5 bux before to get my dogs nails trimmed at other places..the staff was very friendly..the vet area was really clean..the only issue here was the price for me..i cant pay 200 for a vet trip..it's just out of my budget..they wanted to also do a skin... read more
I wanted to update my review because I just can never have a bad experience with these guys! Whether its Caren, Mikki or Kelly that help you get your appt, talk with the vets, get all the scripts you need. Then you have T and Eric who are always awesome with your pets, the best vet techs! They remember your dogs and treat them like family. Dr. D and Dr. Wishbock I can't say enough about, those 2 always go above and beyond! I just wish I knew a way to repay them. We have seen Dr. Huckabee and she is super sweet, amazing vet b... read more
We LOVE this place. We have received nothing but compassionate care and honesty from everyone there. We spent a lot of time with Dr. Wisbrock when our Sophie was diagnosed with renal failure at 7 years old. She was a long-standing guest there and became a special little part of their family while she was being treated. Thanks to their care we had another 4 months with her after her diagnosis before it was time to let her go. We still take our 2 remaning kitties there and are never, ever disappointed with them. I am a b... read more
We LOVE Love Pet Hospital. I send everyone I know here. I live in North/Central Austin off MoPac and Anderson, so it's not exactly the closest vet to me but I happily drive past dozens of other vets to get to Love; it's just THAT GOOD! I've been bringing my little mischievous Min Pin for about 4 years now and we have loved every minute. This is the first vet that she hasn't absolutely thrown a fit over! I thought I had already written a review of these wonderful people but saw that I hadn't and knew I HAD to. We've had excel... read more
Love pet hospital is the best! They are always courteous, caring, and professional.
After having a less-than-stellar experience with another local vet (who somehow didn't notice that my cat had a missing leg, among other things) I decided to try out Love Pet Hospital. It was a great experience. Everyone, from the receptionist to the tech to Dr. Huckabee, was friendly and helpful. The exam room had a television that had a video of fish playing, which I thought was a nice touch. I paid $114 for the office visit, rabies and FVRCP vaccines, and a fecal test, and four cans of diet kitty food for my little fatt... read more
After being extremely disappointed with other vets, including the VCA, I decided to take my cat here based on the stellar reviews. The receptionists were very friendly, acted like they cared about me and my cat and even talked to him while I was filling out paperwork. They put me in a room right on time and the vet came right in (I have had other experiences where I have waited 1 1/2 hours for the vet to come into the exam room!) Dr. Huckabee was helpful, nice and knowledgeable. They did not try to sell me expensive test... read more
Before last Friday, I would have also rated Love Pet Hospital with 5 stars based on previous experience with Dr. Love and the staff. Several years ago they saved one of my cats from going into renal failure. Very caring, very compassionate. However, my experience at the reception desk last Friday has soured me. I walked in with my 19 year old cat in my arms, obviously in very bad shape. I was sobbing and explaining that I only had $10 in my account but wanted to save my cat. I was ready to charge my credit card but cou... read more
You really learn what a vet's practice is like when you have to put a pet down. Last week, my 12 year old Pom mix (a dog I inherited after my mother died 2 years ago) had gotten far enough into congestive heart failure that I decided the only humane thing to do was put her down. One of the hardest things I've ever had to do was made a little easier by the loving, sensitive care offered me and Chelsea by Dr. Huckaby and the kind staff at LPH. A dark room, candles, low, soft music playing, no pressure as to time, lotsa love ... read more
