We LOVE Love Pet Hospital. I send everyone I know here. I live in North/Central Austin off MoPac and Anderson, so it's not exactly the closest vet to me but I happily drive past dozens of other vets to get to Love; it's just THAT GOOD! I've been bringing my little mischievous Min Pin for about 4 years now and we have loved every minute. This is the first vet that she hasn't absolutely thrown a fit over! I thought I had already written a review of these wonderful people but saw that I hadn't and knew I HAD to. We've had excel... read more

After having a less-than-stellar experience with another local vet (who somehow didn't notice that my cat had a missing leg, among other things) I decided to try out Love Pet Hospital. It was a great experience. Everyone, from the receptionist to the tech to Dr. Huckabee, was friendly and helpful. The exam room had a television that had a video of fish playing, which I thought was a nice touch. I paid $114 for the office visit, rabies and FVRCP vaccines, and a fecal test, and four cans of diet kitty food for my little fatt... read more

After being extremely disappointed with other vets, including the VCA, I decided to take my cat here based on the stellar reviews. The receptionists were very friendly, acted like they cared about me and my cat and even talked to him while I was filling out paperwork. They put me in a room right on time and the vet came right in (I have had other experiences where I have waited 1 1/2 hours for the vet to come into the exam room!) Dr. Huckabee was helpful, nice and knowledgeable. They did not try to sell me expensive test... read more

Before last Friday, I would have also rated Love Pet Hospital with 5 stars based on previous experience with Dr. Love and the staff. Several years ago they saved one of my cats from going into renal failure. Very caring, very compassionate. However, my experience at the reception desk last Friday has soured me. I walked in with my 19 year old cat in my arms, obviously in very bad shape. I was sobbing and explaining that I only had $10 in my account but wanted to save my cat. I was ready to charge my credit card but cou... read more

You really learn what a vet's practice is like when you have to put a pet down. Last week, my 12 year old Pom mix (a dog I inherited after my mother died 2 years ago) had gotten far enough into congestive heart failure that I decided the only humane thing to do was put her down. One of the hardest things I've ever had to do was made a little easier by the loving, sensitive care offered me and Chelsea by Dr. Huckaby and the kind staff at LPH. A dark room, candles, low, soft music playing, no pressure as to time, lotsa love ... read more

They were absolutely WONDERFUL. I saw Dr. Wisbrock and he was so kind and gentle and made my very, very distressed cat much more at ease. He answered all my questions, didn't seem to be rushing at all, and just generally made me feel extremely comfortable. The vet techs were also incredible, as were the receptionists. Just for reference on cost, it cost me $156 for the appointment, a blood test, stool sample, two vaccines, and a nail clipping for my cat, which I don't think is too bad. I will absolutely be going back fo... read more

I can only say WOW! My 6 year old pit bull Meesie hurt her back playing ball. Our regular vet does not do chiropractic on dogs, but our poor dog was in agony. I went online and looked for vets. that do chiropractic. Dr. Tracy Davenport DVM read the X-Rays that we had done at our regular vet and noticed a slipped disc near the base of her tail. She recommended acupuncture for her first visit. I was skeptical, because I felt that she really needed chiropractic. Dr. Davenport explained how the treatment would work for her and p... read more

Okay yelpers, I tried. I tried really hard to get an appointment with Dr. Love and it just didn't happen. They wouldn't do it. But, as Fate is kind and LPH hired good people, my dog and I saw the wonderful Dr. Huckabee. She treated my dog with kindness, compassion and professionalism. She also told me my dog was at her max acceptable weight. Oh well. Some days you get the chicken. Some days you get the nuggets. The techs were very good. They poked and prodded as per their job descriptions but did so with what I can only d... read more
