Unfortunately, I am having to update my review from 4 stars to 1. Here is why. I used to love this clinic but the past two trips I experienced a level of unprofessionalism that cannot be ignored. The vet techs are super sweet and helpful but it's the DR that I saw that hit the wrong buttons. I took one of my dogs in yesterday for her annual exam and the doctor was nice. She checked some tumors that I asked her to check and she did it efficiently. I was pleased with the service until the end. I asked her briefly about some s... read more
I usually don't post a bad review but after visiting this business the last time. I left disgusted and angry! My dog was having a skin problem and the vet prescribed an anti fungal and some wipes. After 2 weeks, my dog did not get any better. I returned and the vet quoted $300 for a skin test, and recommended some "other" alternatives that were even more expensive. I ended up going to Manchaca village vet. OMG after the reasonably priced skin test $90, the result was as expected and I picked up some shampoo and a prescripti... read more
I called to get information on getting my pet euthanized. I found out they charge a "vet visit" cost of $50, plus euthanasia cost. I think it is cold hearted that they would charge a vet office visit cost just to have your animal put down. I definitely won't be going here. Edit: No, not every vet charges a vet visit to euthanized a pet. I called 3-4 other vets in the area and none of them said they would charge an office visit.
I must echo other reviews about this vet, at one time they were great. My dog tore the ligaments in his knee and was seen in 2016. Dr. Huckabee did some Chiro and Laser on him, and he felt better. He did it again, so I made another appointment for Chiro and Laser treatment, I bought pain meds and Synovia G4 soft chews. My bill was $250. Which I thought was high, but I was carrying my dog, so I signed the receipt and left - it was a Friday night. When I read the receipt, they had charged me for a office visit $50, chiro... read more
Business response:
Ann, Client satisfaction and patient health are of the utmost importance to us. We are sorry that you are unsatisfied with the charges from your recent visit and do not agree with our policy. The reason that we require a physical exam to be completed annually prior to any patient receiving medical treatments is to ensure that the treatment plan is the best option for them. Just like humans, as animals age, their medical condition and treatment needs may change. We apologize if this was not properly explained to you and tha... read more
We took our pets here for over 10 years. Used to be great. Now they are more interested in money than your pet. We travel a lot. I was shocked that they refused to prescribe Trifexis (flea and tick medicine) for our pets while traveling. Receptionist said it was illegal. I sent them a letter from the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners as well as the American Veterinary Medical Association to the contrary. 800-Pet-Meds also said they routinely send Trifexis to pet owners while traveling. Love Pet Hospital couldn't ... read more
There may be treatments here that benefit patients. As a human, I've heard nothing good about chiropractic practice. As a pet owner who didn't know where else to turn, we went to see Dr Love. As with most doctors prior, we were just another time-slot filler with an issue that supplements and poor treatment were thrown at without a second thought. We did chiropractic done by Dr Love. She was rather closed off and distant and didn't explain much about her process. Nor were there questions asked about his history and how th... read more
I went in for my dogs 1st check up after I adopted him- (because I adopted him, they waived the first vet payment), which I thought was very kind. The visit was mainly to make sure he was healthy and nothing seriously wrong with him. He did have a small cough that I was a little worried about because it kept sounding like he was choking. They told me that it was kennel cough and to just let him "ride it out". Even though I of course thought this was strange, I didn't ask for medicine because I took the vets word for it. I use to really like coming here but I feel like now this place cares more about money than animals. When taking in my cats for routine annual they are now pushing this extra bloodwork that they did not suggest before. If they didn't before, were they being negligent in not testing and if not were they just doing the bloodwork to get extra money? Either way it didn't settle well with me. Also, even after I got the bloodwork done I was never called to give the results. I'm sure they only call when here is an issue found, b... read more
I am pet sitting for a friend it was out of the country. We were afraid is 7 pound Chihuahua mix had some issues due to the smell of his breath and urine and we wanted to take him in for blood work. The dog is a A biter and going to the vet is extremely dramatic for him. From arrival to lending us a muzzle to asking us to wait skin due to an emergency to handling, bloodwork and chiropractic, Dr. love and her staff or beyond professional, compassionate and gentle with this scared a little dog. We did find a pretty bad bl... read more
