I have been using Love Animal Hospital since I moved here in 9/07. The staff are fantastic, and the doctors are very caring. I had checked out a few vets (but not all) here in TX prior to feeling confident in bringing my dogs somewhere, Love was the only place that did not immediately want to muzzle my Rottie (just because of her breed). I joined Yelp just so I could post about my experience here, and I never post reviews; THAT'S how great it is! I have an older dog who had some pretty scary symptoms, and I was starting to get really scared. My mother is a vet, but she lives in Pennsylvania (not much help for emergencies, but phone calls are nice), and she advised me to seek professional help. I have literally spent a week at Love Pet Hospital with my cat, Kisa. I had Dr. Geoffrey Wisbrock and he was kind and patient with me and my psycho kitty. Kisa ended up having a upper respiratory infection that has been a huge pain in the a** to treat. They kept her for 3 days giving her IV fluids, making sure she ate and giving her nebulizer treatments...all of this was done at a VERY reasonable rate (I can't say the same for the EV...though I was glad they were there)....let's just say I was expecting to drain my savin... read more

I love this place. It was recommended to me by the friendly people at Rivers and Reefs. Love Hospital is one of the best animal doctor offices I have been too. I have two cats that I take there one that is 25lbs and the other that has purple penis syndrome. What I like most is that the people who work with them(my cats) treat them like they are their own pets.

After dealing with Banfield for far too long I finally quit playing around and took my dog to a non-HMO vet. They listened to me, did relevant tests, were wonderful with my dog and were resolved to help me get to the bottom of my doggy's itchy, peely skin. And the customer service could not be better. For example, I left work late today was in danger of not making their 6 pm closing time. They told me they did do overnight care and if I didn't make it, it'd be a $24 charge. After being told that a few other places were completely booked or closed for spring break, I read the one review about this place and decided to take my doggie there for an emergency visit since he was was vomiting, had diarrhea, and wasn't eating. They told me to bring him in right away and they would see me. The secretary was very friendly and nice, as well as the other vet techs working there. This is my favorite vet in Austin for the wonders that the vet, Carolyn Love, has worked on animals over the years. But, as a review, I will write about a tale of my favorite spoiled cat, Thistle. My husband and I are very upset and disappointed with the service and the staff here. We heard very good reviews about this vet hospital but after today we are in shock at how we were treated. First of all, the receptionist did not enter in the computer system that my 6 month old kitten already had her rabies vaccine! It was right there in her file folder, and you can actually feel it in her thin folder because it's a protruding medal tag! So today, mistakenly, they gave my kitten another rabies vaccine! Initially, I praised Shanti's compassionate (?) doctor on this site, then only five days after seeing her last, my cat passed away unexpectedly:( ?!!!!Worst day of my life. The doctor never reached out, though she was there in the office at the time? And another doctor took over completely?
