3.5-4 stars overall. I came here for a Yelp elite event to get al Ann over hair color done. The guy who dyed my hair, Nam first came to me with an iPad to choose what color I would dye my hair to. We went with a red color, and he carefully took his time to put the color on me. He was really friendly and awesome! Then after he was done I sat there for the dye to sit in and someone else washed my hair. I wouldn't really say the hair wash was a head massage as it was promised. I had an excellent visit here! First of all, the studio is gorgeous and kept so clean and organized-- very relaxing! I came in for a root dye, tone, and blow out. The stylist did a great job explaining to me the process and achieving the hair goal I was looking to reach. She helped me find the right product to care for my hair between visits as well. Overall, this place was great. Very reasonably priced for a high quality result and a wonderful experience

I was here through a Yelp Elite event for an "all over color" service with blow dry. I booked my appointment online, which was a fairly straightforward process. Upon arrival, there were two other customers but I was helped immediately. The service was very professional. They took a "before" photo for my profile. Together with the hair stylist, we picked a color and he immediately got to work. The wash and blow dry was also very nice. The interior of the place is very welcoming and modern. I was in dire need of root coverup. I couldn't get an appointment with my regular colorist,,,saw plenty of good reviews for the take home product online and was thrilled to see they had a color bar. The salon was very well put together, clean, spacious. Staff was very friendly and helpful. My end results were exactly what I wanted. My gray was nicely covered and the added gloss made it shine. I will definitely suggest it to my friends and I will be back

Grateful this opened I needed a place like this desperately. The staff is highly skilled and handled the demand of customers with ease. They did wonders for my hair and were very friendly. 2 things. I tipped in cash and a 20% gratuity was added onto my credit card which was promptly fixed after calling the customer service number. Also someone else's before and after root photos were uploaded onto my profile in the app. No biggies but worth mentioning.

Unhappy appointment - Madison Reed, Chestnut Hill I had a very disappointing experience at Madison Reed Color Bar. When I arrived, one of the colorists checked me in and told me I was scheduled with her. I explained what I wanted to do with my hair, and she left saying she needed to get an iPad. do not use TARA in Chestnut Hill- after a lengthy explanation and photos that I showed her, she colored my entire head much too dark and said she had to remove my highlights to color my hair so now I'm stuck with the wrong color hair the wrong shade and tone and no highlights and they cannot fix it OMG

the staff was quite rude and impersonal. More importantly, they dont seem to have a timer system between color and wash. I was left waiting for over an hour to wash it (when I stated clearly I want the minimum amount of product for the least amount of time). I had to remind them to wash it multiple times.
