I arrived on time for my appt for a color & blow dry. Waited several minutes before anyone came to the front desk. We had gone over the color; she knew I wanted to go lighter (brown). All seem to be going fine until the person doing my hair had to leave, leaving only one employee there with 4 other ladies. I tried them 4 times. They were super expensive and truly did not know "pretty" colors. This last visit was almost $400.00 and my hair looked like straw and my friends all agreed the color was terrible. They book too many people at once - try to upsell you and sell you their products, which I don't like but I did try them. I went to Madison Reed today for a 12:30 appointment, arriving about three minutes early. One employee was working on a client. She saw me, went in the back and came up to me and said her colleague was on break, could I come back in 25 minutes. I didn't mind. I went and grabbed a bite to eat. I returned and found the other employee at the check-in/checkout station in the front of the store where I was sitting. She was helping someone check out. Beware!!!! I went to Madison Reed because of its claims of being ammonia-free and implying their products are healthier for your hair. The 1st time I went to color my hair, clumps of hair continuously fell from my head while blow-drying. I approached the stylist and she gave me some lame excuse. I've been going to this location since it opened, as I signed up for their color subscription service (I am prematurely very gray and need my hair colored every other week). Quality of the color itself is very good, and service has mostly been good, but staff turnover has been incessant. Some of the staff have been excellent but there has been little to no corporate support. Talented people have left due to being overworked and having no help. I have visited this location 4 times, holding out hope that I was just encountering blips of bad service. But this place is chronically understaffed by poorly trained people. At the moment I am sitting with color in my hair that should have been washed out 45 minutes ago, but all the staff disappeared into the back room and have yet to reappear, leaving me and another customer alone. I am not making this up.

The staff lacks in any customer service skills and come off as rude to their clientele due to the fact that they are understaffed. The company should stick to its online model and spare the customers the abuse. This location is also difficult to locate due to construction.

Worst hair color I've ever gotten. Uneven highlights, then a toner which was too dark...so most of my hair is black, with a few blond streaks...looks awful!
