It's a non frills service - basic .don't recommend for blondes turned my blonde to orange and have to get color repair. So after paying 120 not I have to spend 220 for color correction . The roughest shampoo and wash I have ever had in my life ! I would not go back nor buy the color .

I booked a color appointment here because I've been coloring my own hair at home and wanted to switch to Madison Reed products, and wanted to get in-person guidance on color choice. Started appt 15 min late without any acknowledgment, the woman next to me has a huge non service dog and is watching videos with the volume up. This is pretty consistent with the less than pleasant experiences at this location. The good is it is cheap if you need roots done 2x a month. Otherwise the experience is just never good.

Very disappointed. My daughter's first appointment was great. She went back today to get the exact same color and was told they don't offer that color any longer. Then they applied color and after application was done they made her sit for an hour and 15 minutes! The whole time laughing in the break room and never checked on her. Bare minimum service - and that's being generous. Color quality, variety of colors, and even shampooing is absolutely lacking. I was left with hair color on my skin and had to clean up myself. Color was slapped on. There are plenty of salons in Houston that will just do color, root touchups, etc. for the same pricing, but the customer service and the product quality is outstanding in comparison.

Confusing experience. Felt like a DYI, assembly line and cattle call. Walked in and someone at the door asked if I had an appt. I said yes, and she pointed to what looks like a bar and said sit wherever you like (there was only 1 unoccupied chair). Poor customer service, confusing experience, hardly cheaper than regular salons where people are nice to you. My review dates back to July 2022, but I see that it's still the same (or worse) so wanted to add my experience in hopes of warning others. I gave this place (Rice Village location) so many chances. Employees (mainly 2 girls) seem disgruntled. I get a glare when I walk in. I have to interrupt, after waiting a while, to ask for service past my appointment time. One time I came in, they just looked at me and then walked to the break room. After a while, I had to go back there and asked for someone to start my service. I learned to start my own timer so that the dye doesn't stay too long. I will never use this salon. They left me in the chair for a long time without checking my hair. Needless to say I lost lots of hair in the process. I was told that this is normal for highlights. My hair tech also left for the day during my appointment without saying a word to me about leaving. Extremely unprofessional and not what I expected from a salon like MR in Rice Village.
