Went in for the first time just for a root touch up and my color turned out fine, there is nothing wrong with the products or salon itself, but the customer service here really is awful and I'm not one to complain or even write reviews. Does anyone find it weird that there are no mirrors at the coloring station? There are some in the store, but they're in weird areas, so I wasn't able to see my hair until everything was finished and was on my way to pay. And at that point I was so distracted by the fact that the blowout (which for some reason I paid extra for) was completely useless -- my hair was sticking out in multiple directions, and because i couldn't see what the stylist was doing, I couldn't tell him what to do. It's worth getting on the 6 train for their downtown location where the stylists are much more pleasant, professional and listen to your requests like please shampoo after 35 minutes. Downtown just has a happier vibe

I liked my colorist but the whole process and customer service was not great. There was nobody at the front desk and was confused who to ask to check in. Also for the price I could go to a better salon with the amenities. They upcharged me for doing a little more than the roots and tried to charge me for full color. No one was timing my color wait and I spent more than an hour in the chair and had to ask someone when my color time was up. Also there was a lot of dye left on my scalp and hairline. I usually go to the Flatiron location of Madison Reed, but since they were fully booked I figured I try out the UES location. Overall my experience was pretty terrible and here's why: 1. I arrived on time for my 11:30 appointment, but the stylist didn't actually start working on my hair until 12pm. And even then she was juggling people that were checking in, checking out, etc. I didn't actually leave the store until 1:30 which is far longer than my usual appointments. 2. My hair natural color are ashy and I was very specific about keeping it the same... but unfortunately it's in the warm brown tone now( which is my least favorite color). I don't know how to fix it , and balayage came out patchy and I still see some of my gray hair Not very happy with experience

Hair color was not what I asked for and multiple stylists refused to fix it for me. Instead I had to buy an at home kit and try to salvage it myself. Extremely disappointed in the service at this location. I asked for a balayage and got half my hair dyed a different color very, uneven coloring and highlights that went all the way up instead of the balayage I asked for.

I came in to transition my blonde balayage into a darker brown color. I was given a glaze and I was told the color should last for at least three months. I've washed my hair twice and it's patchy and fading at the roots. It also has started to fade and discolor in a weird way so that my ends are now turning purple.
