Yes. They were able to come out to the Colfax, CA area the same day. Also, the diagnostic fee was not too high - $94, and they got the fan ordered and installed quickly. The big problem is they way over charged for a simple fan moter. I texted with an HVAC friend of mine from the Bay Area and the price range he quoted for a company in the Bay Area to do it was about half of what Maki charged. A/C was not working on a 103 degree day. Saw that Maki had good reviews, so I called them. They sent a tech, John, out within a few hours. He checked the outside compressor while I watched. He quickly told me that the compressor had completely failed and that I needed to replace the whole system (including what is in the attic). I know my way around electrical and I just didn't feel he was testing it correctly. When I challenged him, he seemed to get annoyed. He kept promoting a new system. Maki installed a new swamp cooler on our home in Colfax about two years ago. So this was the second summer to experience it. It is supposed to have two speeds, low and high. However, there seems to be no difference. Like its just low all the time. I have called them and they told me there would be a charge to come out and check it. But they installed it and if they installed the wiring wrong, I should not have to pay. Also the unit they put in is extremely difficult to maintain. I wished I had checked out reviews before I used this company. I had always heard that they had a good reputation, so I used them, and paid more than I should have, to install a 3 part mini-split system in my home, for about $12,000. The system was sold to me as that the units function great independently. However, when the main area of my home did not cool down, I was then told that these systems really need to work together to function well. Signed up under a maintenance agreement last year but when I never heard from them, I called to find out when exactly I'd be seeing them. Instead of them coming each season (every 6 months) I was strung along to wait 9 months. By that time, my nearly 20-yo unit had caught fire, burned the circuitry board, melted capacitors, wiring, and needed replacing. Worst experience ever. Lets just say that I'll never use Maki again. I called another company. They came out the nex't day and took care of the problem for about half the Maki price. They have a customer for life. Being born and raised in Auburn I get asked from time to time who I would recommed for heating and air service. It won't be Maki. And I plan on spreading the word!!
Macki installed my heat and a/c unit and they where great people that did a great job. However their incessant phone calls wanting to do maintenance on our system has worn me out. I''m a retired master technician and know this carrier unit does not need the service they're selling us. I asked them when they did service last time to clean the condenser of leaves and dog hair by blowing it out with air pressure. We apologize for calling too often. The manufacturers do require proof of maintenance for your warranty You’re welcome to have any licensed contractor do it and provide you receipts. As far as the hose, we do this to unclog any debris and leaves from the coil. It’s perfectly safe and recommend by the equipment manufacturers. The unit sits outdoors in the rain. 100% ok and safe. Made an appointment for an estimate for a repair over the weekend. The appointment window was 2:00-4:00pm. I was notified by phone at 1:57pm that they needed to cancel my appointment. I had taken the afternoon off of work to be here for the appointment window. I appreciate the phone call (hence the two stars rather than one) but more notice would have been great. Will be going with another company for the repair.

Last year they did a tune up; this year it broke. Hot summer days and my warranty guys are booked until Saturday. Cannot understand why you have to do some mediocre job on a premium system. I see all the coils inside are dirty and God knows what else broke in it may be after your tuneup ? Will be knowing this Saturday I suppose. Too bad.
