Hats off to the folks at Maki Heating & Air. We bought a house that had a too small return venting for the size of the house. We always knew when the air/heat would come on as we could hear the return vents drawing air regardless of where we might be in the house. We called Maki and they came out and installed a much larger "return air" venting and ducting and now know when the system comes on by leaving a window open near the compressor so we can hear that. All of the difference in the world. Thanks guys!

Maki Heating and Air serviced my AC unit today for $69. The technician was professional and efficient. He found that I needed to replace a part called a capacitor that was not performing within specs. I did so. Then I searched on the capacitor part for my Carrier system and found the part cost $20. He took about 15 minutes to replace it. I was charged $235. This is an $800 per hour labor rate! I got an estimate from him to install a Quiet Cool whole house fan for $2839. Hi Jennifer, we appreciate the feedback. On the capacitor, we install only USA made parts. These are not what you find on line. With the Quiet Cool whole house fan, we do feel we are comparable to most licensed and insured contractors. I’m not sure what size fan your home requires or if this range on Angie’s List is for a 7.0 fan or smaller fan. When our ac suddenly stopped working, Maki was the first of three companies in the area to answer the phone and they scheduled me for the next day. Even called back with an earlier time slot that opened up! Antonio arrived early and identified the problem promptly. He was professional and friendly and explained the problem and cost to me and then finished the repair. We are beyond pleased with him and the service and will use them in the future!

I wanted to wait until we experienced both cold and hot weather to write a review. Now that we have experienced our first 90 degree day, I can say with confidence that the replacement system installed by Maki is performing exceptionally. We had an attic fan and whole house fan installed with our HVAC replacement system, and I am extremely satisfied with the difference these two items make. I'm making this review at the request of Maki service technician Brent. Our reason for calling Maki: Our heater ceased heating on a cold morning. It seemed to work normally, but no heat. I called Maki because they had satisfactorily fixed our AC some years ago. The lady at Maki was polite and helpful, and she arranged for Brent to come to our house in about 2 hours. What a fantastic company! I was visiting my dad in North Auburn yesterday when his elderly neighbor reported her heat was not working. The power went out the night before and she had spent the night with a friend. It was 41 degrees in her house and snow was predicted for the afternoon. One neighbor removed the heater door but none of us had any expertise in heater maintenance and repair. I got on my phone and read the good reviews for Maki and called. I love this company. They were so helpful a few months ago when I purchased my new system from them. My bills went down over $50 a month. Wish I had done it long ago. Cheaper and much quieter. Don't procrastinate like me. Well, with the cold weather we were admiring the rain when we noticed condensation coming up from under our deck where the unit is located. My heater stopped working over the weekend. I called Monday morning and they were able to fit me in quickly. They were quick, helpful, courteous and professional. I would use them again!
