Went for Valentines, sat by fireplace, had great wine, great appetizer, dissappointing special, didnt care wine was great and ambiance, wife loved it, worth the money. thanks for a great experience. Awesome service.
We had a great waitress - very attentive and knowledgeable. Fun place to celebrate birthdays!
The complimentary birthday meal--lobster ravioli--was absolutely wonderful. We sat by one of the fireplaces in this converted historic mansion which was very cozy on a cold winter night. The prices are very reasonable for such delectable food. Our server was very attentive. The noise level from the other patrons in the restaurant made it difficult to converse, but otherwise the evening was beautiful and memorable. Upon our return home, we recommended it to several of our friends who live in the Grand Rapids area.
Loved the live music player who went from table to table playing classic music requests.
Everything was great except I was disappointed with the tiramisu dessert.
I've gone to Mangiamo's plenty of times over the year and have enjoyed every meal and the scenery of the restaurant. Over the summer the outdoor dining area is lovely and I love the all season patio. The food is always good, there has only been one thing on the menu i didn't like, luckily, i didn't order it, my friend did. They have a new menu, but the food is still delicious. On this particular trip to Mangiamo! The service left quite a bit to be desired. As always, the atmosphere was energetic, yet not loud. The food was delicious, but because of poor service & excuses, our appetizer & soups AND main course each arrived to the table just minutes after each other. Good food, good service, great atmosphere. A romantic evening or dinner with friends this is a great location.
Second time we have been there, and it was not as good as we remembered. Food was very good, but it is amazing how much indifferent service can take away from the dining experience. We went early, and were assigned a table in a mostly empty dining room with cold air blowing on my wife. The waiter moved between bothered and indifferent all night.
