Just arrived and so far so good. Check-in process a little slow but CNA came in right away and brought dinner and checked wounds and made improvements to bandages right away. Things that they did not do at Sutter General.

Although we tried to transfer mom out, her work comp did not allow us to so, we had to find a way to make this work. I must say that having completed her rehab time here, things did improve greatly. Communication is the key! Family must be advocates for loved ones and we were very vocal about our disappointments. The staff was very eager to work with us and check on mom to make sure she was happy. The staff was spoken to about there response times and the food situation was solved. My mother has had three stays at Mckinley Center and each time we specifically requested that her treatment be done with them. We found the care to be professional and efficient. The staff was friendly and caring. I work in medical education and am quite alert to possible problems (medical staff and/or facilitaties) and found no problems. I have been working with this facility for two years and they are great. Whenever I come in the staff is very friendly and always take the time to talk with me. Recently one of their nurses went out of her way to make sure we got the patient information we needed and even called my cell to make sure my office received the fax.

These folks take the business of recovery seriously! Very polite, attentive and positive! Excellent therapists made my stay productive, and the whole staff was friendly and supportive. The food was pretty good too!

My mother has been in McKinley Park Center for the last 2 1/2 years. Most of the people at McKinley are very nice and treat my mother very well. She seems happy most of the time and is well fed as she has gained 12 pounds since coming to the home. They have repainted and put in new floors and keep the place pretty clean. She is on Medi Cal and I have never had any issues with this home.

All the nurses with the exception of one male nurse and one night nurse who sits on the computer and hides from everyone so she doesn't have to perform her duties, were very kind. The one nurse that really went above and beyond and would make anyone smile and in fact the reason I didn't leave there via AMA (against medical advice) she did everything to make me comfortable and smile. This is a horrible place for anyone who is immobile. You will press the button for assistance and no one comes. You hear people yelling for help in the hallways. If you have any loved one don't ever bring them here. The staff is completely disconnected with the patients and don't seem to care. If I could give them a negative star I would. Stay away from this place.
