My family has a terrible experience with this facility where my father stayed for over a year. He passed away from contracting covid at this facility and, to date, around 40 patients have contracted covid in this facility as stated on their website. First of all, I would like to start by saying trusting a loved one in the hands of strangers is hard enough. Unfortunately, My grandma was in the hospital and then transferred to McKinley for rehab and this facility has not made this transition any easier. She has now been there for a month and I have had so many issues with this rehab and not many positive things to say. This is not the place to take someone with Alzheimer's Dementia despite them reassuring me that they were experienced with Alzheimer's patients. My mom was recovering from knee replacement surgery and the help wanted her to get up and in the wheelchair by herself. Even though her surgeon wrote a prescription for NorCo for after the surgery I found out they were only giving her Tylenol because they didn't want her "loopy" on narcotics. If your loved one needs Rehabilitation or long-term care stay away from this place! They will kill you here.!!! My 99 year old grandmother just had a heart procedure done, she was the oldest person on record at UC Davis for this procedure, the results were fantastic! Unfortunately we were blinded by the Bling appearance of McKinley Park facility and trusted her Aftercare with them. I was at this facility to finish out IV antibiotics, 5 days. I went through the skilled nursing facilities with the staff at UC Davis hospital that I had been in and just picked one. What a mistake that was. There was only one RN on duty at a time for the entire facility. I was to receive the antibiotics through a PICC line every 6 hours. The first day I was there, I did not receive any antibiotics. I bussed, called, and walked up to the front desk (sick) to ask why I had not been given the antibiotic. They said the c... read more

First of all let me start off by saying that i had to create a yelp account and also had to assign a star to even rate this shitty facility. My mother had been staying here for rehab after getting discharged from mercy after a fall she had at home with r hip surgery. As soon as I entered the facility it smelled soo bad..like dead people live here. McKinley Park Care Center is a nightmare. Please, please visit this facility prior to placing your family member and do not acquiesce to pressure from hospital discharge planners. McKinley's website brings new meaning to the phrase "bait and switch". Their website promises a dated, by clean facility with a healthcare professional (Dr, NP or PA) on staff 5 days a week and most weekends. My mother was recovering from weakness from cancer treatments. 1st: if you arrive on a Friday evening you will not be evaluated in any capacity until Monday. 2nd: I told the Dr. Not once but twice, Tuesday AND Wednesday that I was concerned that my mothers arm started getting numb from her finger tips and eventually all the way up...
