Good print, but real drawbacks The printer produces good quality output and it does it relatively quickly. If that is all you want, I think this is a good choice. If, on the other hand, you want to print double-sided or checks on pre-printed checks, you may want to think again. It jams virtually every time that I try to print double-sided, and it macerates the checks. Long lasting ink I am happy with. Ink savings fast speed and easy to use
GREAT MACHINE THIS IS THE FIRST BROTHER I EVER PURCHASED. MOST OF THE OTHERS WERE "HP" THEN I WAS TIRED OF THE ISSUES WITH "HP" AND PURCHASED A "EPSON" IT WAS REPLACED TWICE IN ONE YEAR. THE EXTENDED WARRANTEE PAID FOR A NEW ONE AND I PURCHASED THIS BROTHER. I HAVE HAD IT FOR 3 MONTHS AND IT HAS WORKED FLAWLESSLY. SETUP WENT SMOOTH AND WAS EASY. I AM VERY HAPPY.
Best ink jet printer!! After weeks of looking for a new printer, the Brother MFC-J5830DW checks off all my requests!! There were a few reviews out there on the printer, but going to my local Staples store to put my hands on it cinched the deal. I never thought I'd need the air print, but how cool that is to print from your iPhone! I've learned my lesson to NEVER purchase ink from someone other than the maker of the printer! Best All In One EVER! This is the best all in one I have ever owned! It was very easy to set up and prints very clearly. The scanner works very well also.
Should have bought years ago This printer was so easy to set up and integrate to existing office network. I am a bit old school or just older and wasn't entirely ready to go wireless and this gave simple option for both. Not to mention, price was great.
So far we are very happy with our Brother This is the perfect printer for our Senior Club's office. It was easy to set up and is also easy to use. Most of us Seniors are amateurs when it comes to technology, but there was no problem with our new Brother. We are using it as a stand-alone printer now, but plan to hook it up to our computer so that we can print from the there as well.

Brother MFC J5830DW I am happy with this machine. I searched for weeks online for the best combination of low cost of operation and reliability. I believe I found it. I do most of my printing in draft mode, black only (with only infrequent use of color). This runs CHEAP! Even draft mode is pretty sharp (and "best" mode looks like the best HP laser).
